Tupac's Influence
We all know who Tupac Shakur is, and if you don't then I feel sorry for you... Tupac was not only a rapper/actor, he was also a revolutionary icon. Tupac's music was not simply gangster rap, rather his music was more like "gangster gospel rap". The messages in his lyrics let us know the anger and rage he felt over oppression, inequality and even police brutality. Tupac influenced my way of looking at these societal issues. I too began to feel rage over oppression, inequality, and police brutality the more i listened to his lyrics. His charisma and truthfulness made hime a very popular man and many people followed him because of it. His death brought a big change in hip hop, that still hasn't been fixed. How much influence did Tupac had in his prime, and how much influence does his content in songs, poems, speeches and interviews still have today? Do you even think he was influential?

I always saw Tupac as a shady individual. The kind of guy who would preach to you one minute and then stab you in the back the next one. As an artist I recognize he was very influential but I never liked him much, I always preferred biggie over him.

Tupac taught the world that a tragic death is the easiest way to achieve fame.

Tupac is still alive though living on a remote island.
How was he able to predict the future? I highly doubt he was. He's still alive. |
Not only was his music influential, but his values and beliefs were also as powerful. Tupac was raised by the Black Panther party, and this transformed him into a revolutionary icon who was using music as a way to educate the world about the society he lived in. I didn't know tupac personally, but through his music and by watching all the interviews and speeches that he was a part of, I realized that Tupac was not a gangster, killer or a criminal. Tupac simply spoke the truth and for whatever reason the truth he spoke, was too much for society to handle, therefore portarying him as a bad person.
