Also, one could argue that Nas started the beef. He took jabs at the Roc camp (specifically Memphis Bleek) in his song Nastradamus and Jay-Z wasn't having that. |

To be fair, when you're talking about Takeover having a better beat as to why it's the better dub then there can't be much about Jay-Z's dub that was great.
The point is to humiliate your opponent, Nas used a simple beat and the bars did the talking. It's pretty obvious it's the better dub? Nas would have been pissing himself after that, Jay-Z is on radio sounding very, very shaken. I just don't get how anyone can say Jay-Z won after hearing that. SR, those examples of Jay-Z bars aren't saying much, even if he did show Nas a gun, how is that a diss lol? And I don't think Nas cares about Jay-Z selling more either (Jay-Z talking about sales lol, typical). And sleeping with his child's mom... unless they were together, that isn't really a diss either. If I was Nas I'd be like, who gives a shit? |

RealTalk, you're an idiot. I've likely listened to Nas, Rakim, 2Pac and Notorious BIG a hell of a lot more than you have. You're not worth my time.
As for the Nas/Jay-Z beef, I think it may have all been a work. They saw the increased popularity that 2pac and BIG enjoyed from their beef, and probably got together to orchestrate one. It only enhanced each man's status within hip-hop and was beneficial to both artists. I didn't get the feeling there was any true animosity in it. As most have said it was pretty much just childish pops at one another. They seemed to kiss and make up rather easily a few years later. |

This thread should have ended the minute the correct answer (Jay Z) was given.

Nas lyrical verses were more complex, interesting and clever. He went beyond just talking about "sells, cars, women, etc"--- basically gimmick things, which is all Jay Z really can talk about. Nas lyrics had more depth and the metaphors he used were insane. |

RealTalk, why are you still talking? You make ridiculous claims and flat out lie to satisfy your own delusional agenda.
You of all people need to learn the difference between fact and opinion. You might also want to listen to some music some time, I don't think you get it. |
