Since, joey is mostly stuck doing mixtapes, he has alot of anger to vent so that's why he's always beefing with people to get some attention in his direction.
Until this fan boy started posting some of his "better" songs, I wouldn't have known that many of them at all wow....can't believe you still think this? what is this? 1998? I feel like i'm in a time warp or some shit

Probably has so much beef because he's pretty angry at the world, and yeah maybe in that regard he does act like a bit of a spoilt child.
You really think that Lil B track is a good diss?! Haha. As for the Inspectah Deck diss, Budden got what he deserved... even though it wasn't really Decks business, it should've been Method Man to respond as it was his beef with Budden. And it's crazy that that whole thing elevated so much over such a small mediocre throwaway comment Budden made regarding VIBE magazine's best rapper alive competition that they ran. It wasn't even a direct attack on Method Man, he just used his name as an example of how out of touch Vibe was. There were others too, Meth just took it as an offensive attack. I kinda have to agree that the whole Vibe thing was pretty ****, i mean even Bow Wow was on the shortlist?! For the most part I try and ignore all hip-hop beef, its pretty tiring watchin ego's clash all the time, but sometimes it's quite good. The best exchange Budden ever had was with Saigon... They were all dope tracks... Even though Saigon murdered Joey with this song. The use of Pump It Up is really funny and inventive. Last edited by hoof123; 03-21-2011 at 06:24 AM. |

I also must chime in and say I don't understand the love Joe Budden gets. I read the post, and listened to the songs and all, but I still don't get it.
To each their own, though.

Yeah I suppose, whatever floats your boat I suppose.
I think with Budden it's just I personally relate immensely to most of the situations that he talks about. Loss of a father, loss of a friend, depression, drug addiction. And maybe it's just because that I discovered him whilst I was going through some of these episodes so his content stuck out to me more, like in a weird ongoing nostalgic way, I dunno. And even though he's just expressing himself, to me at least he's kinda like the voice of my emotions too, like he's able to say stuff that I keep bottled, so in that way listening to him is sorta like my own kinda outlet. And it's really cool having been a listener for years to be growing up along side him, as he seems to be maturing in character which is influencing his music, ie. accepting happiness in his personal life, making amends with his parents, that kinda thing. And even though I sound like a massive preachy douche bag in all these posts, I do realise that Budden isn't the only person who creates this kinda music, for a brief example Slug is another of my favourite artists (and I've had the pleasure of meeting him) but I just think that Budden does it a little bit better than most. |
