yo my bad I didn't intend for that to be criticizing, as I feel (like with most lists in these threads) only three or four albums will cause any real debate, and all those 'necessary' albums are present (well except having TPAB instead of good kid, but that's more personal preference for me than anything). usually the rest of these lists are just filled out for people to try and cause a little drama by voting for a consensus favorite in order to keep a personal favorite alive for another round or two - just seems like the bottom of the list was kind of thrown together and was missing a couple staple albums of the decade that could stir **** up a little better than mick frickin jenkins

There was a lot of discussion about replacing Piñata and The Water[s] but Qwertyy didn't want to help. It is pretty messed up that C4C didn't make the cut.

I actually had GKMC on but people wanted TPAB so we swapped. the bottom of the list is mostly recs from people because nobody really debated what others suggested and I just wanted to have lists be as inclusive as possible. if you have any suggestions for the other lists please feel free to voice them as they're all still open to be altered and improved.

C4C didn't make the cut because RTJ is here and I'm quite sure El-P is on another list as is Company Flow. but it still should have been on the list I think, I didn't realize others liked it as much as I do.

also that's 3 people now who have said they love the waters so s my d mate.

I like most of the albums you posted but on the 2000s list and a little bit on the 2010s it feels like there are some albums that are so underground that they make it hard for people to participate because they haven't even heard of the artist, let alone the album. You do have time but you can't always accurately gage an album well based on one or two listens, plus people in general can be lazy with checking out new material. I can't vote until I check out a few of the albums myself, I don't want to vote when I haven't heard everything lol. Plenty of dope artists tho, even a few I hadn't heard of which doesn't happen much anymore

Anyone who votes off History Will Absolve Me should take a second look at the lyrics.

Quote:
Grave is the fertile womb
Born again through empty tomb
One prophet twelve goons
Worship suns crescent moons
The Creator at his loom
Air shimmers in sand dunes
Sunstruck
Dead dinosaurs dissolve, gassed up
The muezzin calls
1000 Israeli gunbutts arrayed on Solomon's walls
The curved blade cuts
The lamb thrashes
Steel sharpens steel, a thrown stone bashes
Bloody hands thrust skyward
The mob heaves
For debts older than fire
Niggas Bleed just like us
Tremble in the shadow of volcanoes that might bust
Everyday Struggle ten absolutes
Got A Story To Tell
The most perfect truth; Death is eternal life
Hell is to exist with his light eternal night
Cold to the bone
Copper on eyelids I'm coming home

Cruel deities, fashioned from circuits and wire
Nimrod's shimmering tower reaching higher and higher
We bent lightning and strode through the fire
Cracked the Earth, conquered the skies
Captured space and time
We headed thataway, as the crow flies
As the pilotless drone glides
Only problem with being your own god is you still gotta die
Cast spells as you might
Late nights in labs practicing animal sacrifice
All under the watchful gaze of intelligent satellites
Pull fact from fiction like light separated by a prism
Surrounded by telescreens, advanced surveillance systems
Kaczynski's in prison
Danse Macabre, entranced by Mars. Heaven, Earth, then light!
Watch nuclear fission through black goggle
Lead bunker
The King approves
Magicians peddle baubles
The High Priests deal in absolutes
Exotic theorems, equations and infinite loops

Freddie Gibbs and Madlib are rightfully gone, now Frownland can stop bitching about their inclusion...

1. Billy Woods - History Will Absolve Me
2. Killer Mike - RAP Music
3. L'Orange & Kool Keith - Time? Astonishing
4. Kanye West - My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy
5. Kendrick Lamar - To Pimp A Butterfly
6. Run the Jewels - Run the Jewels 2
7. Death Grips - The Money Store
8. Danny Brown - XXX
10. Shabazz Palaces - Black Up
11. Mick Jenkins - The Water[s]

Vote 4 off

Voting ends January 16th
