Driving around town looking for the best spot
For the drunk and hot girls Up in the club look at here what we got Some drunk and hot girls Stop dancing with your girlfriend and come dance with me Stop talking 'bout your boyfriend since he is not me Stop running up my tab cause these drinks is not free You drunk and hot girl Deep man. Pure poetry. That fact that he completely ripped off a Can song and gave it these awesome lyrics makes it extra special to me. |

"I'd rather do nothing with you, than something with somebody new."
That's actually a decent line you know.

"Feeling like Katrina with no fema
Like Martin with no Gina Like a flight with no visa First class with the seat back I still see ya In my past, you on the other side of the glass Of my memory's museum, I'm just saying, Hey Mona Lisa, come home you know you can't Rome without Caesar" Without the last line which is pretty dumb, I like this passage, especially the bolded part from Flashing Lights I think the thing I like about Kanye's lyrics is that they're laced with his exuberant persona. You'd know it was a Kanye lyric if you saw it written down. They're not the most articulate but as a Kanye fan I don't listen to for intellectual pursuits, I listen because I find the way his character/persona/ego bleeds into his music enjoyable. He's got personality, you can't deny that, and the sometimes humorous, sometimes brash and often ridiculous nature of his lyrics display that. |

Can you be a little more specific? Those are pretty much the defining qualities of mainstream rap. The only thing that separates Kanye's personality from the rest of the artists is that he made himself into a public nuisance while the rest keep it in their music.
