So many people posting cerebral backpacker music in here. Don't understand how that can get you hyped.

and the classic

Cuthbert 01-06-2015 04:20 PM

I think that Temps one fits the criteria of this thread very well. Makes me want to stab someone.

These two always for me.

Edit: How do I post youtube videos and not have them show up as just links?

Needs to be the full url.

Then if it has 'https', take the 's' out.

bulbasaur 01-08-2015 03:51 PM

dwnwthvwls, did you ever watch interscope's "the next episode" that aired on showtime around 2003? i don't remember too much about it, but diabolic was on there, which is kind of neat in hindsight.

Spoiler for 90s-wise:

natural elements - i mean this (1994)

organized konfusion - bring it on (1994)

rbl posse - blue bird (1994)

No Face, I haven't, but I'll see if I can find someway to check it out. Thanks! :finger:

Micco 01-08-2015 06:58 PM

Lol I couldn't get hyped off "Mic Checka." I could though off of "Freakit" or the Pete Rock Remix of "Jussummen"

John Wilkes Booth 01-22-2015 07:41 AM

****in cappadonna rips this ****, lol. great verses from all 3 yet cappadonna outshines them both on this track imo

one of my favorite rza beats...

in yo face like a can a mase, babay. is it burnin? well **** it now you're learnin

YOU WHITE MOTHER****ERS CAN'T EVER TAKE OVER. YOU SHUT THE **** UP AND YOU SHUT THE **** UP

honestly could put the whole album in this thread, but here's a few of the more adrenaline inducing tracks (left out proteck ya neck cause i posted it before)

wu tang will probably always be my favorite hip hop group, tbh. followed by mobb deep, outkast, bcc, then the roots, probably. honorable mentions to digable planets, de la, onyx

Frownland 01-22-2015 09:58 AM

^Wu Tang's definitely my favourite early hip hop group. Top 20 for me overall because I like the more modern stuff.

John Wilkes Booth 01-22-2015 11:27 AM

what's your favorite group overall?

Frownland 01-22-2015 11:30 AM

Madvillain

John Wilkes Booth 01-22-2015 11:35 AM

did they ever do anything other than that one album?

i would definitely say madvillainy is the best doom album i've heard, and i'm not much of a doom fan in general but that album is top notch underground **** to me. some of my favorite tracks..

this chick looks pretty young... more evidence of doom's pedophilia

i'd honestly put cannibal ox above them though

if producer/rapper teams count as "hip hop groups" then i'd have to put gangstarr and pete rock& cl smooth near the top of my list too

For the past 15 years they've been promising a part two but all we've gotten are Madlib remixes. Also, when I said hip hop groups I meant artists, not posses specifically.

John Wilkes Booth 01-22-2015 11:40 AM

what's your top 10 groups then? looking for one that i haven't heard

Frownland 01-22-2015 11:45 AM

I don't listen to many "groups" apart from Wu, Public Enemy, KMD, Freestyle Fellowship, and NWA tbh. I'll just throw down my top ten artists.

1. Madvillain
2. Billy Woods/Armand Hammer
3. dalek
4. El-P
5. Boom Bip & Doseone
6. Hail Mary Mallon
7. Death Grips
8. Run the Jewels
9. JJ DOOM
10. Ghostpoet
