I can't really judge Wu at all because I've only heard parts of 36 Chambers and Liquid Swords it's just such a huge discography with so many so called great albums I don't really know where to start.

Why are people comparing Chance the Rapper to Hopsin and Drake to Pitbull?
Typical 'all new music is the same' logic. Chance and Drake have more distinguishable characteristics than any of the Wu-Tang did. They're all pretty much the same guy to varying levels of rapping ability. |

Who was comparing them? I think they were both just being pooped on.
Wu members each had unique characteristics but you can expand your statement to 90s gangster rap in general and maybe even any era of rap. I dont think the genre has ever been that diverse until recently (the past 10-15 years with the explosion of indie artists). The difference was mostly in the production and whatever small quirk a particular artist had about them. Experimental hiphop is just reaching puberty. |
