honestly he laid the framework for what a 90's rapper is supposed to sound like and for that i have to thank him. his influence is beyond measure. that being said, his classics are really just him bragging about how good he can rap again and again and again and again. there is no depth to him as an artist. no personality. just the archetype of what an MC should sound like. |

I know the point is to trash on good emcees but I still want to argue back haha. Although that is a really good point against Rakim.

el-p-wise, 8 steps to perfection by company flow is probably my favorite track. i enjoyed fantastic damage a bit and i have a cd copy of i'll sleep when you're dead around somewhere, but i haven't listened to either in a few years at the least
