If you knew me or read any of my posts you would know I have a huge hardon for underground and 90s hiphop. I'm a snob who shuns mainstream, and other members have pointed out that I should try to be more open-minded. I'm not disagreeing with you because I think Lil Wayne and Drake are good artists. I'm disagreeing with you because during the 90s/early 2000s the only time I heard rap was when it was from my own music collection or with people who also enjoyed the genre. A couple months ago I was at my job and heard some old dude "singing" Iggy Azelia. If that's not a good example of how rap has hit the masses idk what is.

DwnWthVwls, we ended our argument back at page 12. If you go back and read my comments you will see that I initially dealt with your pop music comment & it has been adopted by more pop music for most than 10 years.
All musical genres have there day in the sun & than eventually hit an inevitable decline. Swing, jazz, classic rock, new wave, heavy metal, punk, rap. Music culture is constantly in flux so its inevitable, you can't stop it, which is what I've been trying to relay to the person who started this thread. Why bother going around and starting a war against a musical genre that's already fading in popularity. I don't mean to be impolite but twice now I have directed my comments to the person who originated this thread, and twice now you have interrupted me. I would like to hear what he has to say, thank you. |
