The point is that you've built you arguments by ignoring many valid points we've made, and posted bull**** from random internet people (appeal to popularity)
The point is that you too have already lost this argument.

If you haven't noticed the dominance of rap in pop music over the last decade my question to you would be...where have you been?
That's exactly what I said. Rap is now heavily used in pop music. You said it's dying and now your saying it's dominating. Rap as a genre has been on an upswing since it was adopted for use in Pop music. ~10 years.

Let me ask you this, heavy metal isn't as dominant as it once was. It doesn't dominate record sales or the pop charts like it did in the 80's. Are you therefore saying that rap music is somehow immune to the natural decline that metal & other musical genres go through, and that it is therefore a more enduring & defacto culturally superior form of art?
No? Idk where you got that from. I simply said rap itself has been adopted by other genres and has changed over time, very similar to Rock. Rap is not immune to becoming unpopular. What I'm saying is I agree with you 90s style rap has fallen off but rap as a genre/style is, in my experience, definitely not on the decline. That's the only point I was ever trying to make. Rap today is mixed with popular music more than ever before. It's still rap. It's more accessible, more palatable, and a huge part of modern pop culture.

If you knew me or read any of my posts you would know I have a huge hardon for underground and 90s hiphop. I'm a snob who shuns mainstream, and other members have pointed out that I should try to be more open-minded. I'm not disagreeing with you because I think Lil Wayne and Drake are good artists. I'm disagreeing with you because during the 90s/early 2000s the only time I heard rap was when it was from my own music collection or with people who also enjoyed the genre. A couple months ago I was at my job and heard some old dude "singing" Iggy Azelia. If that's not a good example of how rap has hit the masses idk what is.

More like Toronto Blue Jays. At one point, the first five batters each had a Drake song as their walkup music.

DwnWthVwls, we ended our argument back at page 12. If you go back and read my comments you will see that I initially dealt with your pop music comment & it has been adopted by more pop music for most than 10 years.

All musical genres have there day in the sun & than eventually hit an inevitable decline. Swing, jazz, classic rock, new wave, heavy metal, punk, rap. Music culture is constantly in flux so its inevitable, you can't stop it, which is what I've been trying to relay to the person who started this thread. Why bother going around and starting a war against a musical genre that's already fading in popularity.

I don't mean to be impolite but twice now I have directed my comments to the person who originated this thread, and twice now you have interrupted me. I would like to hear what he has to say, thank you.

My comment was a response to a post where you quoted me. It had nothing to do with the OP. If you don't want me to respond than don't quote me.
