I disagree and this song demonstrates the differences in time periods perfectly. Each verse represents a different era. Lyrical content, rhyme schemes, and beats have all changed. If it didn't you wouldn't hear a song and know it's from the 90s or 80s. I hate when people try to simplfy hip hop just because the artists don't play instruments.

I wrote a big response to that and my phone crashed before posting...
![]() Basically, the only part I agree with in terms of genuine development in the genre is the rapping itself.
