GS9 Music

This includes Bobby Shmurda and the like (he's the most known from what I can tell). I feel like this might be a bit premature since these dudes only have so much music out and it is of the new wave of gangsta ilk (drill, trap, etc.). But these two songs have been on mondo repeat for me recently:

Pretty hot stuff if you ask me. But yeah, share stuff here if you find anything. OR share your thoughts on this and other NWOG (as I have now coined it and it will further be referred to as) type stuff (Chief Keef, Migos, etc.).

DwnWthVwls 10-02-2014 11:43 PM

That is some of the worst music I have ever heard.

Surell 10-02-2014 11:51 PM

Yeah but you hate Doom soo

DwnWthVwls 10-03-2014 12:40 AM

Yes but I recognize him as a credible and talented artist. He just doesn't appeal to me as an MC.

Sorry this just ain't my kind of hip hop, same with that Young Thug guy you posted a while back. Just awful, I'd rather listen to Drake and Lil Wayne than this crap which says a lot because I hate them both.

What do these abbreviations stand for?

Franco Pepe Kalle 10-03-2014 10:27 AM

these songs are good in my book. I think these rappers have some ability to be entertaining. Surrell, if you have any more songs from these people, SHOW THEM please.

Surell 10-03-2014 12:24 PM

DWV I can totally see where you're comin from, and the Doom thing was a joke, if I really used that argument I'd be ****ty for it. I understand this is much more on te ignorant/ratchet side of the spectrum and not everybody can get behind it. I definitely wouldn't say that this is good in te same way I think mcs like Doom or Ghost, two of my favorites, are good, but I also wouldn't say they're bad because of that. They serve different functions: this kinds stuff is fun for me, it's my version of EDM or whathaveyou.

Janz to what abbreviations are you referring?

Franco I'm glad you dig it man! I'll def share more of these dudes if I find anything

Sparky 10-03-2014 01:47 PM

shmurf gang

I think janz is asking about NWOG?

I like these guys but i couldn't turn up with them like migos

Surell 10-03-2014 02:07 PM

NWOG = new wave of gangsta.

I feel you even though migos get on my nerves sometimes. I do love "handsome and wealthy" or whatever that whack **** is called. "Hannah Montana" was the **** too. But I really get crunk to this **** and chief keef

GS9 and NWOG.

Gatorface 10-03-2014 04:56 PM

Bobby shmurda is not very lirical for a new york rapper the beats are ok he kind trying sound like chef keef.

Surell 10-03-2014 05:06 PM

Janz I'm honestly not sure what GS9 means, that's just they call their group or whatevs, NWOG is my invention so that's why I know it.

Gatorface I can def see where you're comin from, he definitely isn't the est lyricist, I wouldn't say he's the worst (I'd give that to tyga or ca$h out). His sound is that kinda drill sound, but he claims that him and his NY people have had this sound even before keef and them, although I don't know how true tht actually is.

So is it like a collective like Raider Klan? I just didn't understand what the title of the thread was referring to, if it was a genre or label or what.

Surell 10-03-2014 11:02 PM

Yeah, sorry! It's the collective, although Bobby Shmurda seems to be the main one pulling the weight of the crew, though it seems like there's usually a leader that steps out and then someone else pops up (Rocky then Ferg, Spaceghost then Denzel Curry, I don't think OF applies here so much since they all put their stuff out together although Tyler was definitely the primary figurehead of that scene). I'm considering if this thread should be where we discuss the groups and possible evolution of NWOG style stuff like this though, since it seems like a lot of that stuff is fairly one off but still has a lot of people perpetuating the scenes.

Thought you were being serious. Enjoy your NWOG. I'll be over there stuck in in the 90s :D

Surell 10-04-2014 12:59 AM

Nothin wrong with that, not many better places to be stuck in. Well besides like, i dunno, the future could be cool.

Surell 10-04-2014 11:17 AM

Srsly why do migos keep lettin rick Ross on their jock tho? They're not great but they got more Goin on than him by a long shot if you ask me. Dudes such a parasite

Sparky 10-04-2014 01:36 PM

I liked migo's a lot when they were starting out, but they singles as of late have been getting a little redundant.

They carved their own niche but it's certainly gotten diluted by both imitators of their respective style and them imitating others in a negative manner, i know lil b was upset with them for a while(though he tends to be with nearly every one rightfull so or not)
