I knew him before he started puberty, bro. We used to throw rocks at cars. Oh how we'd laugh and play.

The first time I heard him was when he did the Tiny Desk Concert on NPR. That was shortly before "Thrift Shop" got really popular, but the song was already out and he performed it on the show.

I didn't read the OP as having that hipster vibe of "oh I liked this artist way before he was popular."

I feel like he was just trying to ask a general question of whether people knew him before his most recent album came out.

I knew him before but I didn't listen to him much. I heard can't hold us before he tweaked it a bit to put on this album a couple years ago. I always used to think that it was John Legend singing on that track for some reason.

Heh. Look it's all good, I did not mean to sound angry/upset in my post, I was just being brutally honest.

I knew him for a few years before Thrift Shop and the Heist came out. I would listen to him on occasion, but I loved Otherside, both the original and the remix with Fences. Actually, the Vs. EP in general was pretty great.

I used to rap to him while he was gestating in his mothers uterus. Mostly sugar hill gang but sometimes some Wu Tang.

? This seems a little heavy-handed for you Moss.

EDIT: nvm. lol I'm tired enough to not notice rap. Nothing to see here.

When he's talking to the white mom.

"Even the protest outside, so sad and so dumb. If a cop pulls you over, it's your fault if you run."

kind of relates to your general feelings about the protests that happen based off of things you've said in the past.

The verse starts at 3:22.
