NehruvianDoom

New collab between doom and bishop nehru :D

Doom:

Bishop Nehru

What do people think of the age difference?

I think Doom's going to go for some figurative father of hip hop theme, whilst letting Nehru be the primary focus of the record. Hopefully it see's doom producing some new material.

Very excited.

another one too, "darkness" which isn't as good.

I'm liking OM but Darkness was pretty boring. I'm really hoping we're going to hear DOOM on something that's not a hook at not just producing.

DOOM putting over the younger talent, eh?
I find DOOM projects to be a bit inconsistent, he seems like the type of guy who'll get a half decent idea in mind and just make a record anyway.
That being said though, 2014's been a bit weak on the hip-hop front so the opportunity's there to blow everyone away.

New Track "Caskets"

Lovin that beat and they both sound noice.

Sparky 09-19-2014 09:09 PM

not bad not bad

Engine 09-19-2014 10:04 PM

Nehru kinda can't rap but I'll give this a chance anyway cause DOOM

Sparky 09-19-2014 10:18 PM

Humor me and tell me why he can't rap?

Your talking about a kid who has the blessings of DOOM and NAS already

Frownland 09-19-2014 10:27 PM

Nehru makes the album a lot less enjoyable than it could be IMO, great beats though.

weak rhythm, uncontrolled, seems like he's struggling to keep up. I dunno he just doesn't sound special to me.

edit: I mean he's alright but, well, to rap like he does you need a lot of character, like early GZA or something. That's not there. Instead he sounds like he's just mimicking a lot of various old rap styles without adding anything. Listen to Doom's verses right next to his and he sounds so amateurish, derivative and just not good.

Sparky 09-19-2014 10:49 PM

sounds totally natural to me

I'd agree he doesn't have much to say. This happens to a lot of rappers, I don't know who brought this up first, but a lot of rappers just rap about rapping and get dull get.

Engine 09-19-2014 11:07 PM

I dunno. Maybe I just don't like his breathless style or his weak voice. Maybe Doom and Nas can see that he'll get better with age, he's only a teenager right? Still, he's nowhere near as good as Doom or Nas when they were kids.

Sparky 09-19-2014 11:11 PM

Yeah he mostly struck my interest because of that bacon-eating concept for his first music video i posted; had some humorous flare

Then the doom record. I agree he sounds old-school, but i don't get put off by it like i did with joey badass and those guys

Engine 09-19-2014 11:26 PM

Yeah, I definitely don't mean to be hating. I guess I like rappers to sound either very tight or full of personality or both, and I don't really hear either one in Nehru but I'll give him time. He's got the production skills already so he'll stick to that and maybe get better on the mic.

Nachoman13 10-01-2014 12:20 PM

I thought the album was really good, I liked that Nehru just slotted into MF Doom's theme and concept and it gave a nice little insight into Nehru's flow

Sparky 10-02-2014 01:37 PM

Giving it a listen now. Classic doom production, literally. Not very memorable but also very listenable. Fair record.

Gatorface 10-02-2014 02:58 PM

cool dude

grindy 10-12-2014 06:05 AM

Better than a lot of the stuff Doom has been putting out lately.
Never heard Nehru before. His rapping didn't blow me away, but it's competent and listenable enough. Some nice, groovy beats, too.

sidewinder 10-13-2014 01:45 PM

Well, I just played this for the first time. I like the Doom beats, rhymes, and sound samples. This Nehru guy I'm unsure about. At times his vocals were just fine, other times they made me cringe a little. Sounded a bit less than smooth, less than professional. We'll see how it plays out.

Frownland 10-13-2014 06:27 PM

I'm not a big fan of the album. Nehru wrecks it.

Lu-Cuss 10-31-2014 06:21 PM

I thought we were getting a new DOOM album, not just something with 2 verses and his name in the title :/

He needs to release another MF DOOM record, respectively.
