they got enough acknowledgement during their prime. They don't need to constantly be mentioned 30 years after the fact.

There are artists with Facebook that do not have alot of likes or friends. I also do not necessarily think it reaffirms if someone is popular or not popular. It is just another measure to look at ..... but it is not the end all or be all of a celebrity's popularity The discussion is not on popularity anyway. My question is.... why is Ice Cube so underrated? Why does it have to take the passing of artists for the industry to acknowledge them? It does not make any sense to me and is quite sad. Quote:
So why would it be unlikely that a fan would vote more than once OR make more than one account so their favorite artist can win? I have seen these things occur all the time. |

Ice Cube has never gotten the respect that he deserves in the music industry. Still he does have the respect of those who really listen to music like they are supposed to.

I don't have time to bother reading the entire thread but I'd like to say something.
I don't think many young kids today know about the hiphop pioneers but that doesn't mean they haven't made their mark on the industry and are not well respected within it. Even the mainstream artists of today, that I hate, acknowledge the greats of the past as inspirations. I don't understand how that inspiration translates into the garbage music they are making but at least they are still giving props to the great men and women before them. |
