We are talking about music but you are claiming he is this big mega international star and that is simply not true. He needs to have had a major cross over venture whether it be music or other ventures outside of that in order to be a big international star like you were implying.
Well I literally never once called him a "big mega international star", nor did I ever imply it. Is it somehow required that you're a "big mega international star" to not be underrated, or what?

Also, you're the one who keeps saying it isn't true, so the burden of proof is on you.

No... because there are bigger stars than him that I feel are underrated like Janet for instance but I just brought that up because I felt you were exaggerating his international popularity even in the states.

I stated a fact, he has over 5M FB likes, which is roughly half as much as Dr. Dre. I'd say if you have 5M+ people who know who you are, and I can guarantee you there are more out there who either aren't on FB, or haven't "liked" him, or who don't like him, I'd say if you have that, you're a pretty popular guy, whether it's locally or globally.

What is your definition of a big international star? He isn't getting as much attention as Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg, but I think what you're failing to realize is those two have a big foot in mainstream lately. Dr. Dre produces music for many other popular hip-hop artists, and Snoop Dogg collaborates with other big names, who also involves a lot of mainstream artists in his own songs. You cannot deny their influence in present hip-hop culture. Ice Cube has barely released as much material and hasn't been mainstream for a long time. Mainstream is about what's relevant today and people don't necessarily listen to artists because they're pioneers.

That's definitely different from acknowledging the history of hip-hop.

Okay fine...lets say he is popular (although I still do not think he is that popular) it still does not change the fact that he is underrated

What's "that popular"? He has 5M+ likes on FB. I mean, we're talking about him right? He isn't exactly obscure if there are at least 5 million people in the world who know who he is, and I'd bet that's a very low figure.

You can say it until you're blue in the face, there's nothing factual about it.

And I don't think Ice really cares about being mainstream. He's got it made as it is, he's a household name, he's highly acclaimed for his work in the 90s, and he can afford to do just about anything he wants.

Nothing underrated about it.

So him having 5 million likes on face book concludes that he is a household name? For all we know the same person could have liked him 10 times. I do not think that is a accurate way to measure whether or not he is popular. I never said he was obscure. I said he was underrated.

Dizzee is a household name in the UK, end of.
Ice Cube is known more worldwide, & I didn't even say otherwise.

Don't really care how many cunts on Facebook click 'like' on a page.

I bet Tulisa is not a household name here cos she's only got 700k likes on FB.

You can't like a page on FB 10 times unless you have 10 different accounts.

Thats something that still needs to be taken into consideration because there are alot of people who have more than one account.

There are people who have facebook pages for their organizations, businesses, personal etc. I know some people who purposely make different accounts for the purpose of befriending their favorite singer so their favorite singer can have more likes, views, friends etc.

There are polls that measure the likes and friends of celebrity facebook pages so its not that far fetch that this type of things happens.

NOW of course I am not suggesting that ALL of Ice Cube likes or friends are the same person but just giving another perspective that should be taken into consideration when looking at celebrity facebook pages. Since this type of thing occurs, I do not think it is an accurate measure to base popularity on.
