Useless was a stronger term than necessary.

But it's fair to say that the large majority of people who previously wanted the De La Soul discography would have already bought it or downloaded it (legally or not).

Yeah, but it's a smart move and has given them some publicity. Probably got a few new fans too. I wouldn't have got it if it weren't for this.

Yeah I am a De La Soul fan but I don't have their entire discography. So I appreciate them doing it.
