Default Are White Rappers Guests in Hip Hop?

Lord Jamar decided to open up his stupid fucking mouth again and say some straight retarded shit. First he was on that homophobe crap when he dissed Kanye for wearing the leather kilt and calling him a "half a fag" and now he makes this outrageous claim that white rappers are only guests in hip hop.

Here is a quote from him.

Quote:
“Okay, white rappers, you’re coming to this almost as a guest,” Lord Jamar announced. “Okay, matter of fact you are guests in the house of Hip Hop. Just because you have a hit record doesn’t give you the right as I feel to voice your opinion. White rappers, those of y’all who really studied the culture, that truly love Hip Hop and all that, keep it real with yourself, you know this is a black man’s thing. We started this. This is our shit. We’ve allowed you, those of you who’ve proved your skill and all that, we’ve allowed you to come in and kick your shit, make yourself known. You know what I mean? And if you have enough respect for the culture we fuck with you. But don’t push it too far.”
Do you guys feel that way? White rappers are only guests and they are in the process of trying to steal the culture away from black people the originators of the movement?

Also, do you feel like white rappers shouldn't have messages/agendas when they make their songs and they should stay in their lane?

It's true that black people started hip hop but it's bull**** to think that it would stay exclusive to them. Long ago literacy, and subsequently writing, was almost strictly found among the upper class, where most authors came from. By Jamar's logic, lower class authors are impeding on the art of the upper class, and should know their place.

Battle rapping has it's roots in Scotland also.

True stories.

These black ppl should realise they're coming to these battles as guests. The Scots have allowed them.

They're both silly and prejudiced thoughts based on art, so that was my connection but I guess you're right on the fallacy. There are obviously other things at play in the literacy part but you get my point.

So does this also mean that he thinks black women are guests in hip hop?

lol. I wonder how he feels about other genres that were pioneered by black people, like jazz and rock (which is basically dominated by whites now).

All music is for everyone to create and enjoy. No genre should be exclusive to specific races or ethnicities.
