Jay Z was the one that started that beef with Nas. Nas didnt start that. Nas just responded lol You cant call some rapper out and expect for them not to respond which is why all these rapper responses to what Kendrick said isnt shocking. I just dont get how some rappers start beefs and then get mad when someone responds. Why get mad when you started it? lol |

Kendrick really knows how to use his hype, that's pretty much all that's happening here. The King of NY line does give me a chuckle, though, and it's relevant, as that's about all anyone cares about.

Also for realtalk thinking he doesn't have to resort to this. He has taken shots are other rappers before. You probably didn't hear his freestyle he did 3 years ago.

Plus, hasn't it been everyone's anxiety that NY won't have some new kid to call king? I mean, it's been a kind of race to find the new messiah anyway (i.e. Kendrick) but NY in particular is always needing someone fresh to bear the crown, i guess because it's rap's birthplace and the home to many of the great lyricists.

Of course, it's super baiting, but my main point is that everyone wants that title, even people who can't have it. People link themselves to the east coast when they want to be seen as a true hip hop legend, so his appropriating himself so, no matter how inappropriate it may be technically, is pretty understandable.

I agree. I don't remember if it was mentioned here, but it did honestly seem like people took that part too offensively for the most part.
It was a verse, he was saying he's already king of L.A. so now he's moving on to bigger and better things. |
