Default smif-n-wessun

smif-n-wessun was a brooklyn area rap duo in the mid 90s consisting of rappers Tek and Steele who were members of Boot Camp Clik. Their first single was "Bucktown" from their debut album Da Shinin. due to legal actions by the smith and wesson company, they changed their names to Cocoa Brovaz.

they recorded a record with tupac called One Nation that was never released. after that, they recorded a group album with Boot Camp Clik that didn't do well, then released another album that got bad reviews and moderate sales. then they basically just hopped on different mixtapes and put out a few more albums but never got 'big' again.

that's basicall a tldr from wikipedia

ive only listened to the first album, Da Shinin which i really enjoy. its like jazzy beats with grimey gangsta type lyrics and the 90s east coast delivery

heres their most popular single "bucktown:

and probably their 2nd most popular song from Da Shinin, 'wreckonize'

heres a song i like too. it uses an illegal super mario sample lol

You should check out their second album as Cocoa Brovas, it's pretty good. In terms of BCC, I prefer Heltah Skeltah and Black Moon. OGC are damn good too. 'Dah Shinin' is one hell of an album though!

Black Moon's first album has to be my favorite, followed closely by Da Shinin.
