Dropped a new song at an art show, nothing else I can find.

He's also on the new(ish) Themselves mixtape, theFREEhoudini. Only on one track though but at least we know he's still breathing.

I had him as a friend on my Myspace before I scrapped it and he'd always throw updates out there and provide tracks and vids and what not. If you have a Myspace account, it's worth looking into.

The more I listen to Aesop Rock, the more clear his lyrics become; in other words, the seemingly randomness of his words will fade over time

Agreed.
There's definitely a method to his madness. The guy is clearly very intelligent. He's not just throwing crazy words together without any meaning. I consider myself pretty intuitive of lyric meanings and even still, it took me a while to figure out his method and direction, but when you do it's almost like listening to a different song. The way your understanding of his lyrics evolves is part of his lyric and I love that.

^ Favorite Aesop Rock tracks?

Freebase Dali 08-20-2010 07:00 PM

Out of the albums/releases I have, my fave of each has to be:

Big Bang [Float]
One Brick [Labor Days]
Holy Smokes [Fast Cars...]
Mars Attacks [Bazooka Tooth]
Nickle Plated Pockets [Daylight]
The Harbor Is Yours [None Shall Pass]

Edit:
Honestly I can probably feel good about changing that list a hundred times. Those are just the first ones I think of when I consider the albums. There are very few of his songs I actually don't like a lot.

I still need to get Music For Earthworms though. I've heard it but I don't have it. :(

I'm seeing him live tomorrow at a club downtown, with any luck I'll hear some new tracks or he'll drop a release date for his new album.
