I gave it a couple of play throughs and I'm liking it so far. He has a very similar theme to Kanye's about feeling wealthy but at the same time because he's new money getting looked down on by people with old money. He also talks about trying to help people from the bottom where he came from like giving them money but then he realizes just throwing money at them doesn't help he needs to inspire them.

Oh goody another album with catchy beats with 3rd grader rhymes..... typical Jay Z formula. Dont have a clue why people flock to listen to his mediocrity.

This is a MESSAGE BOARD where people are suppose to discuss, debate, express their opinion etc. I was debating with another poster and I dont owe you an explanation for my opinion. I listened to some of the tracks myself off this NEW album and its the same generic songs that he always does. So I simply said it and if you have a problem with that opinion then you need to deal with it.
You read between lines too much and think it's okay to put words into my mouth. I'm not implying anything of the sort. First of all, I was taking a light hearted jab at you because I know how much you hate Jay and it seems like you just came in here to shit all over his new album because of that hate. Sure you have your reasons but they aren't as objective as you like to think. I'm not saying that there is anything wrong with hating Jay's work even if you have what you think are valid reasons. That's your opinion and I couldn't care less.

Also, if you would have said that you listened to the album in the first place and they are the same generic songs that he always does. That would have went over much smoother than just saying "Oh goody another album with catchy beats with 3rd grader rhymes..... typical Jay Z formula. Dont have a clue why people flock to listen to his mediocrity." This wording just comes off as a statement that I hater that hasn't even listened to the album would say just because the hate the artist. I don't have a problem with your opinion just the way you expressed it came off like you didn't have much reason to say any of that.

What did you think of BBC? Your precious darling Nas is on it.

I honestly listened to this album completely objectively, I was expecting something decent.

However I don't understand how this album is in any way fulfilling for Hip-Hop fans.

Only whiteboys and middle class cunts would think this album is good, it's the sort of music parents feel safe buying so they can stuff it in their brat's stocking for Christmas.

In short, it's fucking shit.
It's funny that you say that. I live in the hood and people are constantly blasting holy grail while they ball on the courts. The first four tracks are in heavy rotation and people are blasting them as they pass by in their cars.

For me, I like 10 out of 16 tracks. Not even Crown and Heaven Fluffy?

How am I reading between the lines when you called me a "hater" simply because I gave my opinion on the new album? LOL There is no reading in between the lines. You said what you said and made it clear. You straight up bashed me and ANYBODY who has any sort of criticism on Jay Z and yea thats childish because everyone is not obligated to like his music. YOU like it... fine whatever I dont care but dont label other people a hater just because they dont.

lol That was not a light hearted jab you brought up a 3 month old discussion on Jay Z that I had with another poster to justify my opinion and my motive for responding to this topic. Weird and irrelevant...... but just know that whenever you challenge any of my posts whether you intend it to be "funny" or not I am going to respond accordingly.

Second, I dont hate "Jay Z" but since you have a childish way of thinking you think everyone who doesnt care for his music "hates him". I dont know him personally to hate him as you say. I just gave an opinion on the man's music because that is the only thing I can judge.

lol Why does everyone have to be a "hater" to you who doesnt like his music? You sound like a overzealous stan. Did you ever stop to think that maybe people just dont care for his music? That IS okay ya know? That doesnt necessarily make them a "hater" as you say especially if they are being constructive. I was actually being humorous with that post I made but I am usually constructive and objective with my posts.

You obviously DO care about my opinion since you feel its important enough to call me a "hater" because I dont like his new album. I dont see what my critique on this album has to do with my opinion on his overall catalogue.

Like I said, you dont dictate how people express their opinion on message boards or what they say. Now if you had said something like "Did you even listen to the album or what songs did you listen too" instead of just making an assumption that I didnt listen to the album that would have been more appropiate. AFTER listening to the tracks I came to that conclusion that it IS the same formula and material so I simply expressed that, period. YOU are the only one that seems to find issue with that no one else here does.

Its just an opinion hun. That is MY opinion and you can not change that. You need to accept that.

I think you just think I am a "hater" in your mind just because of a previous discussion I had with another poster so YOU assumed that everytime I have an opinion on Jay Z Im hating on him and his music lol I really dont care but I think that it is bad to label people haters because they dont particularly care for a certain type of music that you like. Its childish.

I dont take back a single word I said. Im not going to take back my opinion to fit how you think my opinion should be expressed.

I'm enjoying the album so far. On my second listen. A lot of the lyricism is a clear step up from BP3. Hov gets into religion, philanthropy, racism, and even fears as a new parent. This presents a somewhat oddly vulnerable Jay. I can't say if it's a worthwhile album overall yet though. I did enjoy "Oceans", "FUTW", and "Crown" a lot though.
