Hip-Hop instrumental albums
Did a search, couldn't find a similar thread, sorry if there is already one.
What's the best instrumental albums? I've heard Petestrumentals, Fantastic Vol. 2.1 and Donuts as well as a bunch of Dilla ones like Old Donuts, MPC 3000 and Vol. 2 Vintage. Donuts is my favourite as the beats are not just loops like on the others, so it does feel like an album instead of a collection of instrumentals. Anyone know anything similar? |

You'd like 40 Winks, 9th Wonder, Ta-Ku, Knxwledge, most of Madlib's work is instrumental, Teebs/Bahwee if you're into slower Nujabes type stuff, the obvious ones (DJ Shadow, RJD2, Prefuse 73, Dimlite), two dudes id recommend you check out are Ackryte and Insightful, as well as Maker, although Maker's stuff is a bit harder to find.

Ta-Ku: September Series, Dusty Vol I & II, Scraps Vol. 2 Knxwledge: Karma Loops part 1, Ovrstand, SKRAWBERRIES FUNRAISERS VOL 3., this dude has a lot of quality work. RJD2: Deadringer Prefuse 73: Vocal Studies + Uprock Narratives, One Word Extinguisher Dimlite: Runbox Weathers, This Is Embracing Ackryte: Shades Insightful: Feather'd Son, Blossom Beautiful Teebs: Ardour Bahwee: Flavors Hope this helps. It's alright, I feel like it gets repetitive/boring fairly quickly. I prefer Pt. 2 to be honest. Definitely some gems on there for sure though. |
