Somebody move this if its wrong because I'm pretty sure its white people doing white dubby adaptations of hip hop but it does have some good rapping and hard beats. But they're called witch house so do what you must.

They came a little before the Mellohype/A$AP/houston screw scene really blew back up too (I think) so enjoy that factoid.

that's a good one.

i like this. i'll try to download "i smoke crack" later

this song came up after the one you posted and i like it as well.

i get a very twin peaks aesthetic from this seeing as how im too lazy to articulate my thoughts on it without using some pop culture reference. Sounds sort-of in the same vein as clams casino but a little more diverse, not the same few cliche noises recycled on every track.

This is the postmodern age (neo-postmodern depending on who you ask) so pop culture references are the way to go. I think twin peaks is a good comparison though, at least just for the fact that it's Lynchian. I can see Clams in it, right in between his super ambient cloud rap and the clearer beats on stuff like "Bass" or "Palace." Crystal Castles is kinda similar too, though their feedback isn't so hazy, but more aggressive.

Both these songs are from King Night, which is on Spotify or probably up to download. I don't have it though so ha. That "Redlights" is hot though, little more chill than the rest of the album though still a little on edge. Definitely leaning even closer to Clams.

the song you posted is really infectious, i really like it when the lyrics go into the "i think too much" bars, i think the wordplay is actually fairly rewarding to listen to. Its getting to me, i wish more of king night had lyrics. I was a little underwhelmed by the record to be honest after listening all the way through but im still intrigued enough to keep exploring their music. The color of it is really original and its fresh enough sound to make up for anything it lacks in merit or substance. Be sure to post anymore stand out songs ill add anything whilst exploring myself.

Yeah, the album can kind of drag and doesn't really have any essentialness to it, it's just a nice collection of some pretty good dubby, dirty dark rappish electronic music. That "Trapdoor" really does have a great thing going on with the rapping, I'm a big fan of that style of course, so it's a shame they relegated pretty much just to that song and a couple others surrounding it. It's not the very best beat on the album either, but that's probably because of the rare rapping it contains (#Classic!) - it also still has a pretty nice beat regardless. Now this track is definitely a favorite of mine on the album, very bombastic and makes a great opener to it:

Spoiler for iiiiiii loooooooooooove youuuuuuuuuuuuu:

Don't you just love the black n white Victorian productions Salem's music is expressed alongside? That "Redlights" is hot though, a nice breather considering the weight of their other stuff; almost cheery. On that note, they also did Gucci remixes back in the day:

Spoiler for burrr!:

Then I also came across these cats, very similar sound.

Spoiler for cult shyt:

Yes dude thats exactly what i enjoy about it. I've been digging this song a lot as well

It's probably because i've intentionally immersed myself so deep into "drug" culture but i really like his introductory lines "My expectations had my mouth run dry" "I'm aching, so tell me what's shaking" you have to be aware of the coy nature of it to kinda get why it's funny or it could be me interpreting it for my own needs, either way, i enjoy it a lot.

You read that dude used to be a prostitute? Thats some real **** lol

You need to quit smoking crack, Sparky. I pray for you every day.
And yeah, that 'Tair' song is really quite good.

your not praying hard enough then

-specifically please pray for some financial salvation, if anything
i wish i had gotten to be a part of this scene when it was live in '10 it would seem. Some of their newer matireal isn't as tongue in cheeck, more just the sadness and with actual vocals, check it out at your own risk.

I know man. The old days when it was only tongues entering cheeks were probably happier times for these people.
