Finally getting around to listening to it and it really reminds me of Cancer 4 Cure, which I don't mind because I preferred that to R.A.P. Music but for a free album that's out a little over a year from both musician's previous work I think it's pretty solid.

I think it has something to do with EL-P literally being ingrained in my being.
I even called the album "Run The Numbers" a few times... |
that run the numbers song is a blast, much of adolescent fixated on it
ask me about our specials i'd go for the razor chicken as for this run the jewels ep its kinda crappy. Getting tired of killer mike and the generic stuff he says, time for these dudes to split up |
Wow. It's great man.
|
neh
|
I'm and EL-P Stan man.
|
hmm?
|
Stan. Like the Eminem song. Obsessed.
|
Sit down kids as Uncle Goofle explains hip-hop lingo! ;)
|
I thought "Stan" was commonly used everywhere in that respect.

Yeah, I think it's pretty common. I've always heard it used.

Patrick always managed to be so doped up despite living in a community where I imagine hard drugs were even harder to come by.

On one listen, I can ascertain that it sounds great, is very cohesive, and the guys can really spit, at least on a basic level. Unfortunately I'm pretty unfamiliar with the two of them, but this was gooood, and free, which makes it better tenfold.

I mean like wordplay and delivery and stuff, the fundamentals. I didn't get jiggy to it on an analytical level yet, though i plan to.
btw lolololololool |
I ended up getting a bartender to play this album in its entirety last night after I overheard someone saying that Yeezus was the album of the year.

So i caught them while they were touring here. Had the chance to meet killer mike at the pizza place across the street before the show, who complimented me on my shirt. Met Kool A.D. afterwards who tried to disregard me, fairly so, because I did make a concerted effort to not fuck with him during the show, which is odd because I'm actually a huge fan. It seemed like the noble thing to do at the time, was very intoxicated. I met El-P as well who attempted to humor me while I gave him exposition on U.S. spying of brazilian citizens. Also gave my condolences to Eyedea's mom and mean mugged P.O.S. All in all very good night though I wish I had been more cordial and not tried to act too cool.
|
that sounds like soo much fun and i'm very jealous, but don't you let me catch you mean mugging POS again playboi.

I really hope that we get a follow-up to this album. Mike and El have serious chemistry!

dosnt the song 36 inch chain remind you of tougher colder killer back on cancer for cure?
|
Most of the songs on here remind me of Cancer 4 Cure, but that's more of a compliment than a criticism.

How's he looking since he got that kidney transplant?
|
normal as far as i could tell my only interaction with him was some delusional fan giving him props for his show and him having to inform to the dude he didn't perform lol

It's sorta similar to C4C, but that album felt more focused, theatrical, and cohesive. El is just out of his mind on this album.
"You want to hang? Bring your throat, I got stools and a rope!" |
ooooo nazty~
|
"Humblest guy in the room and I am in the room too"
|
"Caught the ghost when I was yay high so today I stay way high
Do not worry about my habits, without sin I'd probably hate life" |
the line "Not too tall dark and handsome man, But I talk dark for ransoms man" made me laugh haha
|
Run The Jewels
Anyone heard of this? Killer Mike and El-P are a great combo on this album, featuring some hard hitting beats, but also some heavy lyricism.
