How dope is Beck at hip hop?
 

I think on Odelay it was great, but on Mellow Gold, it sounded like poor man's Beastie Boys beats.

It's okay.

I liked his debut/single Loser OK. I still dont mind hearing it once in awhile. His style (along with his voice) seems to really drag along .. like he took a Qualude or something.
Kind of unique in its own way I guess. Not familiar with much more than his debut.

Grunge Hip Hop ?

Beck is the ****. I can't express how much I appreciate that wacky style of mixing together whatever styles he felt like into one unique sound.

So many artists tried to emulate his many styles, but they usually just sounded extremely generic and leave out half of the insanity that makes Beck's music so interesting.

Mellow Gold and Odelay are two absolutely perfect albums IMO, and Stereopathetic Soulmanure is incredibly underrated.

Ultra Vivid Scene has a Beck vibe to me. Love both of those guys.
