everyone is trying to be too politically correct too much of the time, and that people are too sensitive, etc. etc.

White Trap Rap’s Hip Hop Minstrel Show Iggy Azalea and the New Face of Pop-Culture Racism | notes from the Ghetto Side
Pretty interesting article. I have this love/hate thing for Iggy but I like how the article kind of drags her through the mud along with Riff Raff and Lil Debbie. Quote:

Why do you like it?
To me, people are always looking for something to bitch about. Is anyone shocked that someone involved in the music industry isn't the most knowledgeable or sensitive about race relations? Its like being outraged that a politician doesn't know **** about the mechanical aspect of 808s. If this is true, then she spoke about something she doesn't know much about. The difference between her and everyone else is that she's famous and an easy target for a bunch of pseudo-philosophers to appear smart by insulting. I know we have our differences, DJ, so to be clear I don't have any problem with you posting the article, but what passes for journalism and thought these days is really scraping rock bottom. None of it does anything for the betterment of society, its just for the writer to use as a stepping stone to their own Today Show interview.

Also just because she is in the music industry doesn't give her an automatic pass to be ignorant. She also has a whole team behind her and they aren't speaking open to even clue her in on what she is doing. I guess it does make sense though because why would you want to harm your cash cow. I see the article as an opinion piece that opens up discussion. Even if it's discussion that you disagree with. It still needs to be talked about because it's problematic. They aren't trying to win any journalism awards just create a discussion at the very least.
