Mackelmore & Ryan Lewis

A little shocked a forum this savvy to hiphop/rap didn't beat me to this punch but I love the hell out of this jam.

They had a broken keyboard, I bought a broken keyboard.

I really don't like him at all.

LoathsomePete 02-08-2013 12:16 PM

I remember hearing one of their songs at a bar a few week ago and really liking it, but their album from last year has just been one of those ones that continually slips my mind. One day I will finally sit down and listen to it though.

Feel free to elaborate without fear of retribution.

He's pretty wack. That's why you haven't heard us talk about him.

He has a boring flow, beats I don't like, corny as hell, preachy st times whilst being a douchebag and there's much better artists I'd rather spend time listening to. Poor man's Brother Ali.

Let me know when you do. I listened to a handful of tracks (Spotify on random) and I really liked it. Its not perfect by any stretch but I thought he was solid, didn't veer into boring or laconic rhymes, had a pretty good track behind him (a little Paul's Boutique influence) and seemed to know when to not take himself too seriously.

I was impressed.

**** macklemore and his 35 year old hipster bitch persona LOL

Easily, one of the best performers in his genre I've ever seen. I think he has some great face-value lyrics - I would agree that most of his stuff isn't too deep. But I think it's well written, fun when it needs to be, and I'd say Ryan Lewis's beats are one of the duo's strengths.

Here's a handful of other tunes to check out:
