I used to rock out to that one also. I'd venture to say shes at least as talented as Macklemore.

She might be, but I think you have to wait for AV Club or pitchfork to tell you that its socially acceptable to say that.

She could be Kesha's Mother, i'm sure shes far too played out to even grant a response from AV Club or Pitch. Shes still pretty big in the mall scene though, maybe I can ask her direct what she thinks of Macklemore if i run into her in front of Sears or JC Penny.

To get back to the subject of the thread for a moment, I'll say this: my brother is a fan of Mackelmore so I've heard a bunch of his stuff. It's definitely not anything I'd personally run out and buy but he's also not nearly as bad as some in this thread are making him out to be. The song in the OP is pretty catchy at least. I think the problem here is that his style is somewhat old-school and not in a retro hipster way (he even *gasp* sounds a little like Everlast) so he's saddled with being seen as uncool. Poor guy.

You know now that you mention it, he does sound like Everclear, but I never understood the hate there either. Not my favorite artist but not nearly the worst.

I understand the guy isn't Tupac, for godsakes but how some people don't enjoy the beats and the tongue-in-cheek humor - its beyond me.

Everlast, not Everclear.

Thats what I meant. I actually want to punch Art Alezachis or whatever the hell his name is right in his smug, whiny face.
