I've never really seen them take on Doom, i don't know if they had back in the day. They're not too in touch with anything outside of a pretty mainstream sphere -- they practically believe Animal Collective began at Merriwether.

Anyway, list wasn't too bad, but it was just a list made for someone who really never heard any hip hop in their life and needed to learn the basics. pretty much.

thats a good way to put it, this is the stuff that i thought was great back when i started to listen to hiphop back when i was like 11

No matter if it was to be expected or not, I still cried baby's blood when I saw 99 Problems on that list.
