I'm sure if anyone here's paid much attention to the YouTube rap scene they've come across this little video:

I actually heard about Watsky from another rapper called Dan Bull (check him out as well, he's great) and this guy just blows the majority of other rappers away. He's got a great combination of flow, lyrical quality and humour. Anyone else here ever paid him any attention?

He is okay. I like listening to his lyrics, but he usually makes boring songs/albums overall.

I heard about him through Gift of Gab. GoG will do guest verses for 1k on almost anyone. Watsky bought a verse. I didn't think much of Watsky's album or youtube performance. Especially considering it's nothing really original or unique. His speed and content can be matched or bested by many.

the kid has skill there is NO question... i don't really like his songs though. I agree with mrdood as well. It does seem very gimmicky and not terribly original. He can rap fast though... i guess thats cool

Not a fan. He's whiney, his beats blow nuts, his voice is grating, and he's cheesy. But he's made me laugh a few times to be fair.
