Thanks guys for the start on my project. I currently working on a post on my blog to list the top 25 influential underground/independent hip hip artists/ rappers.

There really is no better source than to come to a forum where you guys live and breath this stuff all the time. Once I finish the article I will post the link here.

If anyone has more suggestions feel free to drop some names.

I would say the following:

Action Bronson
Reks
Roc Marciano (experiencing something of a second wind)
Cyrus Malachi (brilliant British MC who has worked with Ill Bill and Ruste Juxx lately)

Saigon, Action Bronson, Roc Marciano, Cor.....Mega...
I just noticed I was naming the lineup for M.A.R.S. so fµck it!

I feel like Army of the Phraohs and The Demigodz ought to be mentioned here aswell.

Good lists all around. I'll go ahead and do my obligatory pimping of Anticon artists now, as far the indie scene is concerned:

Themselves
DoseOne
cLOUDDEAD
Slug
Eyedea
Sole
Alias

And then I'll throw Spose in there, just for his earlier output, mainly. A lot of his more recent **** has me scratching my head.

Oh! And ScHoolBoy Q is definitely worth a listen. This track caught my attention, featuring Kendrick Lamar:

Blessed
