East > West At least from what I know and listen to.

Here they are:

2Pac
Aceyalone
Alchemist
Tha Alkaholiks
Blackalicious
Blu
Brotha Lynch Hung
Busdriver
Crooked I
Del tha Funkee Homosapien
(at this point realising that I probably don't have a preference)
Dilated Peoples
DJ Shadow
Dr. Dre
Earl Sweatshirt
Fashawn
Freestyle Fellowship
Haiku D'Etat
Hieroglyphics
Kendrick Lamar
Madlib
Murs
N.W.A.
OFWGKTA
People Under The Stairs
The Pharcyde
Ras Kass
Schoolboy Q
Snoop Dogg
Souls of Mischief
Strong Arm Steady
Swollen Members

So yeah. Maybe we should start another thread rather than the continual bastardisation of Tupac?

^They're all west Goofle.

And technically Tupac is East Coast, as he relocated to the west. He's from New York.

I didn't see DJ QUIK on that list. Sacrilege.

Must have missed him.

So, let's recap, shall we? First, "technology" brings us this "hologram" of 2Pac, performing at Coachella 2012...

Tupac Hologram At Coachella 2012 Full - YouTube

Then, Suge Knight goes on the radio and says he paid someone to cremate him but never saw a body and never asked...
Suge Knight -- I'm NOT CONVINCED 2Pac is Dead | TMZ.com

All of which, I might add, was actually predicted YEARS ago by the ever-wise, ever-great prophet, Dave Chappelle...

Dave Chappelle 2pac Skit I wrote this song in '94 - YouTube

I think there's clearly only one conclusion to draw out of this...

...it's apparently really f---ing easy to get $3 million out of Suge Knight.

Hell yeah 2pac is a goddamn legend, i've been working on going through and adding most of his music, started with All eyez on me and am now on Better dayz

the dude has flawless beats and insane lyrical talent

brobair3 05-04-2012 10:33 AM

I don't really listen to much 2pac, but i'm sure the music is great if you like his type of music!

What do you guys think the best song on "Me Against the World" is? How bout his best song overall?

Rjinn 03-20-2013 05:28 PM

His first couple of albums are notable, but otherwise, meh. Pretty overrated. I appreciate his individual style though.

Me Against the World best song, dunno. That is his best album though, all the tracks are good.

Top 5: Trapped, Picture Me Rollin, Brenda, Do For Love (if you can count that), Can U Get Away

Didn't like his gangster persona, there were other rappers who did it better.

All Eyez on Me is pretty much the quintessential gangster album though.

First thing that came to mind: NWA - Straight Outta Compton

You could also add Mobb Deep - The Infamous and Scarface - The Diary.

Eh, I think the Diary is mad overrated. His first joint, "Mr Scarface Is Back" is a better "gangster" Scarface album than Diary imo and The Fix is also a better Scarface album.

Necromancer 03-23-2013 11:11 AM

My opinion is bias because 2Pac is one of my favorite. Next to The Beastie Boys.

They were just the first ones that came to my head, I much prefer his 'softer' side tbh.

AEOM has too much filler on there cos he tried to hurry the three album deal with Death Row so he could make his own label. It has some great tracks on there though.

lol

I got Wu Tang Forever yday, think it was you who told me to get it. 1st track missing from the 2nd disc. FFS.

Hmm, I've seen people claim that AEOM has too much filler but I honestly think most of it is solid material. The only filler I really think there is was "Whats Ya Phone #", but other than that, most of it is banging!

Yeah, Wu Tang Forever is great. What do you mean track 1 on disc 2 is missing? If it's an official copy it should be there. Is the disc scratched? On the bright side though, track 1 of disc 2 is only an intro.

What's your fav Scarface album btw?

I liked it a lot at the time I first heard it (about 10 years ago maybe), but as I've got older I've liked it less. 2Pacalypse (even though people say he sounds like Ice Cube on this), MATW and 7 Day Theory are my favourites.

lol

Whats Ya Phone # is **** :D

I downloaded it, I'm OCD about my music collection though, I deleted Midnight Marauders without hearing that as track 1 wasn't on that either.

The Diary, it's the only one I've heard all the way through.

Clifto 03-24-2013 03:20 PM

i couldnt help but download all his albums as soon as i got my comp fixed

Oh, well I guess I understand being OCD about music. Lol at deleting Midnight Marauders, haha! "I am on the front of your cover..." :D

Well you definitely need to check out the entirety of "Mr Scarface Is Back" and "The Fix". Damn good albums!

Deviouz 03-27-2013 04:48 AM

MATW over everything.

Any specific reasons why? Do you think his lyrical content is in top form there? Cause that's why I like MATW so much.

^I probably prefer All Eyez on Me though. Crazy amazing album. Mad love for it.

Yeah, it was alright. Definitely dope, but not my kinda taste. More on the pop-ish side, if you know what I mean...

The 7 Day Theory is better than AEOM and second to MATW, imo.

I discovered 2Pac exactly with this album. It is outstanding as for me. I am also impressed by the quantity of tracks and their durability.

RavenRose 10-20-2024 05:29 AM

Yes, Tupac will always be my favorite rapper--He was a legend!!
