Pretty sure Aesop didn't produce those other albums (and I meant what they have produced themselves, as opposed to the beats they go over).

Blockhead did a majority of the production for Float/Labor Days but Aesop did have his hand in it. If you want to hear early Aesop production listen to Appleseed EP, he produced almost every song.

Just a little question: what's with everyone talking about the producers in hip hop? On rock albums they might be mentioned in the liner notes if they're lucky.

After you listen to hiphop for a while you can recognize producers by their beats similar to how you recognize the way certain bands tune their instruments or something.
RZA, Stoupe, and Primo all come to mind. |

Ah I didn't know you were coming at it from that perspective. I was just thinking in terms of the albums released under their names without considering the producer.

Overall I think DOOM has a more impressive and creative backlog of albums with a dip every once and awhile in quality while Aesop pretty much sticks to what he knows and stays on a pretty even keel as far as the kind of music he puts out. DOOM wins, but just by a hair. Take Me to Your Leader, Madvillainy are two of my favorite albums, evar.

Mm.. Food Madvillainy Born Like This Operation Doomsday The Mouse & The Mask DOOM'S arsenal of material not only makes him a better MC, but also makes this thread arbitrary, and Aesop Rock obsolete.
