I'm saying this as someone who likes Deltron 3030 and Both Sides of the Brain by the way. The guy has certainly put out a couple quality albums, I just don't think in terms of his rapping ability, he stacks up to anyone mentioned in this thread so far.

I think I prefer DOOM overall, but Aesop has better lyrics, and is more consistent.

that song was for some indie flick, it was intentionally strip clubby
I think thats the upper echelon of strib club music |
Hey Sparky, vote DOOM up already. You're making him look bad.

It's getting the time of year when i become anti-voting but sure
heres one of my favorite aesop rock songs :) "still inspired by coke and ghost throwups like a bulimic miss pacman" lol if only he was as good as doom :( |

Ahh, I remember seeing that somewhere but I'm not ****in with it. Good for him or what not, but, one thing I've learned is Aesop Rock has strange tastes. I see eye to eye with him on a lot of his philosophies, but his interests baffle me.
More on topic, one thing I note is I enjoy the beats behind Aesop more than Doom's, and we all know Doom has amazing production. But whether it's Blockhead, Aesop himself, or El-P, production take the cake over DOOM beats 9 times out of 10 for me. |
