well he said he likes "conscious lyrics" and not "wannabe thugs."
to me, if i'm being honest, those groups don't fit his description. they usually rapped about the same wannabe thug **** that any modern mainstream rapper might get **** for. a lot of hip hop elitists are hypocritical and hyper-selective in a weird way. |

i didn't take it all from his post. a lot of it i assumed right off the bat from experience so i'm basically testing for consistency. basically his post didn't indicate that he had any sort of feelings about wu tang or mobb deep but i figured if i asked him he'd say yea they're dope. most east coast obsessed people would. in which case i can then ask how do you not consider what they rap about wanna be thug ****? i am really just bored and curious how people here think.

Yes, thank you. Maybe I'm just high, but it seems like people tend to ignore Take Me To Your Leader when mentioning Doom's greatness. Perhaps it's not as musically adventurous as some of his other projects but it's a damn solid album and I honestly enjoy the hell out of every single track. Around the time the Godzilla remake came out, Hulu put a ton of the old Godzilla/Geedorah/Monster Zero movies on streaming and I may or may not have watched a handful looking for some of the samples he used.
