I don't think Kanye is a bad lyricist. Just because his lyrics are not as intricate and complex as some doesn't mean they are bad. Kanye's lyrics still resonate with people. They might be simple but they are perfect for what he wants. If they were bad then he wouldn't have the fans. Many artists that write intricate super complex lyrics suffer from the fact that they can't write lyrics that are catchy and resonate with people. Kanye gets his point across effectively.

Kanye's desires are either garbage or he can't live up to them. I get the feeling that it's the latter.

You know, good music doesn't stand the test of time. ****ty artists will have their time in the light but they will fade away. If he was bad he wouldn't have spent the last decade on top as one of the highest praised artists in the industry. Controversy alone can't put you at that spot. Especially when most people hate him as a person but love his music.
