She kept saying that in interviews but the first two singles are poppy as hell.

with what she displayed there she is clearly capable of producing much more than she is currently offering, but I think she now suffers from the same thing as Jay.

On Monster she was trying to make a name for himself. Now that she is a big name in the industry, the 'trying' part is redundant and now she also phones it in. Ironic, really.

Perhaps I'm just not too much of an optimist, especially since hip-hop as a whole has been lagging pretty badly this year, but I'm not going to put much faith in a Minaj album striking a chord with me.

I really liked CyHi the Prince's verse on So Appalled and it's a shame he didn't have the same coming out party off the back of it. And Rick Ross produces one of my favourite verses of all time on DIAND.

I hate the use the word underrated but so many people sleep on CyHi. He's a really good lyricist. I have a couple of mixtapes from him.

One of his mixtapes is so good that he should put it out as an album. He had so many album quality tracks on it.

I have the one he released earlier this year, Black History Month or something, but wasn't overly struck by it. Which is a shame because I reckon he's a guy with a lot of potential.

yeah I don't know what was going on with Black History Month.

Check out Royal Flush 2.

He's one of those rappers that articulates his words so clear, yet his flow seems so effortless. The dude rips.

Do you guys even like intelligent lyrics and clever punchlines/metaphors/similes? Can we rename the forum to "Amazing Salesmen and Talent-less Artists"?

Flows good, lyrics are whack.

does hip-hop have to be thought provoking and intellectually high-brow in order to be enjoyable?
I didn't get that memo.
