Things I learned from reading that: Lou Reed needs to listen to more modern music.

Exactly what I was thinking.

Chances are there isn't much I can say that hasn't already been said, but Yeezus definitely isn't Kanye's best work. Decent musically, but underwhelming lyrically.

It's an album Kanye needed to make, even if it's not the album people wanted. Some tracks are among the best he's done, but then there's dreck like "I'm in It".

^The only thing I didn't care for about I'm In It is the Jamaican-rastafarian guy.

Yeah, that was weird. My pal was convinced that was Kanye himself. I told him it wasn't. That prompted a drunken 20 minute shoot argument. Neither of us were of course able to disprove the other, but what a ridiculous statement on his part.

WTF man? He's the best part of "I'm in it"

Really? I seriously wish he handled all the vocals on the album instead of Kanye.

yeah^ it really injected an abrasive forcefulness to it that the song needed to be honest

haha yeah, I'd love to see his face/reaction upon hearing something like Death Grips

still, it's cool that he appreciated parts of it and wasn't just like "oh, it's rap music therefore it's terrible", like some older rockers would
