RZA was a huge influence on Kanye and pretty much everyone that came after him (RZA), but I don't think Kanye and RZAs beats sound anytihng alike. I haven't read this thread, just something I felt like saying.

Nah rza actually created some of the beats for him.

They def dont sound anything a like. This thread made me look at the kanye west production discography page and i gotta admit they'res only like 4 or 5 songs on it i actually like listening to, all of them from the past couple years.

No. I recently spent some time giving his whole discography a shot and I wouldn't consider anything he's done to be must-have.

I think "Late Registration" is more of a must have.

I can see if you don't find his stuff special (especially considering how alot of stuff released today takes on alot of things Kanye does) but if I may ask did you at least find some of the music enjoyable, like without the hype on it's own merits?

Not really. I liked the song "Roses" off of Late Registration, mostly because of the lyrics, but that was about it. Aside from that, everything else was just kind of there. Very little stood out for me. Every once in a while there might be a little glimmer of something interesting but it never seemed to develop into anything worthwhile.

I disagree with Janszoon, I love Kanye but tha tis simply a matter of opinion and I don't want to start a fight. I agree with him that "Roses" is one of his best although Late Registration is almost completely auto tune. I really dig his other songs though.

I watched an interview and apparently he only started writing his own material with MBDTF

If you look at the composition credits on Dark Fantasy though, it never goes to him.

He use to be such a great artist.... I dont know what happened. It seemed after his mom passed his been acting strange and now that his BF with Jay Z is music has been pure trash.

I thought it was supposed to be some reggae song they sampled. Either way, that song was too hot.

Not at all. Sure, she's nice to look at, but she's as dull as a door. She has no depth to her. Nothing but her expensive cars and clothes and copious amounts of money. Would I nail her though? Absolutely. She's ****ing hot.

I wasn't a fan until I heard My Dark Twisted Fantasy. Top to bottom, I love that album. Kanye cracks me up, too. His lyrics will have you scratching your head, like in Niggas in Paris - his whole verse makes no sense at all, but I LOVE it! I want to have dinner with him sometime to pick his brain......

Meh, we don't actually know that. Her spoiled rich girl persona could be something she does for TV. There could be a whole other side to her we'd never know unless we knew her personally.

My personal favorite album is My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, but Late Registration is a close second. :wave:

i think his production is extremely good, and i really enjoy his rapping as well.
