K-Dot-O-Dot
|
I like this dudes style.
Fat ugly dudes make good hip hop |
Haha, that was great!
|
I am going to have a really not very sexy dream about grapes, aren't I? :D
|
whoever dj shamann is he's legit. Same goes for whoever norman krates is. This is a helluva tape.
Just listened to this, it goes hard as ****. Reminds me of monsta island czars. Real lo fi grime stuff, sounds so pure. K Dot is totally in control, never has a hitch in delivery, haven't listened to him enough to judge his lyrics but openers like "stop a heatattack but only snorting a small line" are captivating. The version of the song posted is also more amplified and has more depth on the tape. Jester, or anyone, if you could .zip this for me it would be great. The host site only has an album stream and it doesn't have track time signatures. Can't find a download link anywhere. |

uuuuhhhh where? the "download split tracks mp3" text isnt a link.
|
i got you sparky
check that inbox |
Check out Buckwheats by him. The beats are pretty dirty.
And 9th Uno is another Toronto rapper with ties to the same producers and he's collabed with K-DOT-O-DOT. |
I like this guy a lot. I downloaded Monster. It's more of the same which is fine. You won't find any surprise references or insightful lyricism, but he does have that same despicable and self-loathing character that i find so appealing in my rappers.
This stuff sounds like it was in a time machine from whenever only built for cuban linx came out |
well he just says ill shit that hits hard
and he sounds so, so good. dope scratchy, low voice, and his flow just sounds effortless. dude has serious presence on the track. yeah you should get Buckwheats, Sparky. i think it's better than Monster |
jester, thom york look at pms please!
|
For those that have listened to Trap Jesus, what do you think about how it's set up with all tracks being 1:30-2:00, and all tracks "starting" in the previous track? I personally think it's sick. I've been listening to it a lot lately because it's so easy to get through. I look at it as one continuous track more than almost any other album. I wish more artists would go off this model.

Did you catch the doom reference in bench press? This is probably the strongest overall song in my opinon, but i honestly can listen to this all the way through no problem. samurai silk shirt, everyday is paper day. Dude i tried listening to buckwheats, it's just not as strong. This **** is so refreshing. I gotta see him live if he leaves canada. This dude just chews up beats and spits em out. 9th uno is great playing off him, but i don't care for anything he says too much. The transition from bench press to the freestyle is great. People praise kanye so much for that otis track, how it was minimalist and went with a raw voice sample. Every beat on this tape is like that except on crack and grimy. This is how hip hop should be produced, leave some character on the track, im tired of bitches spewing punchines with their homo robot voices. Sorry to be so abrasive but yes, i really **** with this guy. Also, thom yorke, if you like this i highly reccomend Monsta Island Czars Escape from monsta island |
If anyone could hit me up with a proper link to trap jesus I will love you forever

Just downloaded this puppy last night. Good stuff, though I like the second half of the album a lot more than the first half.
|
Granpa Gestapo is soo good.
|
I think if we keep talking about him he's eventually gonna see this thread. When i google him not a whole lot comes up, this thread makes the first page.

I'm talking about mixtapes/albums from DJs like Babu and Dan the Automator. There were many ... and they all made the tracks seamless - that was the point. Usually they featured a variety of rappers though. |
Your probably right dude, i pretend to know way more about this genre then i actually do.
I don't even know who babu is |
^^ Yeah, with one artist though. When you get a whole bunch of different artists on one album, it disrupts the continuity of it I think. And I was more speaking towards how short the tracks are. Because the tracks are so short, it makes the transitions between songs a lot more effective so that you more or less feel like you're listening to one long track in the end. Even if I don't particularly like a track (I don't really like West End Kids on this), I can easily make it through because of how nicely it flows together.

Loving this so far. Only guy on last.fm who has that particular file scribbled

Sparky, you need to hear this: http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_4z_YFyxeS-...l.+1(2002).jpg Babu was a DJ for the Beat Junkies and Dilated Peoples. And, just to help optimize K.O.'s search engine results, here's a small plug: DJ SHAMANN K-DOT-O-DOT TRAP JESUS TAPE 1 Granpa Gestapo |
K-DOT-O-DOT/9th Uno with Norman Krates and DJ Shamann again coming up soon.

thanks dog
Apparently they recorded a lot of these releases in one day. 9th uno is starting to grow on me as well. I thought a lot of his material was fairly typical stuff, but after repeated listens I found some surprising depth. They're both rewarding to listen to. |
I love 9th Uno's flow. Really digging it on Salute Me in particular. And at the video I posted on the bottom of the third page, I'm really interested to hear more of that song at 0:40, because he just sounds dope at that part, "...get the cash for the ass and the pornos..."
Another guy involved with these guys that I really want to check out but don't know any of his stuff is Bambino. His flow is ****ing nuts on this track (first emcee): |
