You wouldn't wipe your ass with my opinions? Thats fine, but it astounds me that you think you know who are the greatest rappers of all time, yet you give me no reasons except that you say they are. Plus, you claim that Kanye West is one of the greatest rappers of all time, when he has put out 2 albums, thats like saying that Vanilla Ice is the best white rapper of all time because he put out a couple of hits.

A truely great rapper is respected and acknowledged by his piers, past and present, not 16 year old bobbleheads on a internet forum.

Like I said before, I dont want to drag this out.
Mc Ren better than Nas,

Whatever you say

Eminem is undeniably one of the greatest lyricists hip hop has ever seen. His complex rhyme schemes, use of multiple syllable rhymes, assonance rhyming and various other techniques as well as his complex rhythms are close to perfect. His ability in lyricism easily surpasses someone like Biggie who was average at best.

Fair enough he sucks now but in his prime there is only about four other rappers in the entire history of hip hop who could keep up with him lyrically.

And outside of lyricism his delivery is again superior to the vast majority of rappers past or present. His flow is solid and his topic choice and ability to pull in his audience, capturing their imagination, their emotions, their mind and being able to make them relate to every single word is outstanding.

The way I am, Kim and Sing for the Moment > The combined careers of Biggie, Cube and Ren.

@CA: you do realize you're responding to a post I made four years ago, right? Okay, just clarifying...

If it makes you feel any better I'll post a revised list.

The GZA
Snoop
Big L
Ice Cube
Mos Def
Guru
Del
MF DOOM
Nas
Tupac

Ultimately, Eminem will never make a best rappers list that I can agree with.

I'm fine with you disagreeing with my list, I'll even admit Snoop is a questionable choice (Let's just pencil in Rakim's name instead), but I'm curious as to what your criteria is because Ice Cube and Mos Def are two very good performers and lyricists. Why don't you post your own list as well, so I can see what constitutes greatness to the guy who thinks AZ is better than Nas.

AZ is unarguably a better lyricist than Nas. Anyone who knows the first thing about lyricism will tell you that. Nas might be more entertaining (subjective) or choose better topics etc (again, subjective) but he is less than half the lyricist AZ is.

Ice Cube is NOT a good lyricist. His lyrical ability is almost zero. He's a decent entertainer I'll give you that as is mos def. But that doesn't merit being in the top ten rappers of all time.

My list (posted in the other thread ages ago)
