Ofcourse it's disputable. But for someone to think their views/taste in music is superior because they said so is ignorant.

Now who's playing semantics?

The thread says 10 Greatest Rappers, Now if it were an group vote/matter then there would be a voting option. But it isn't, It's your own 10 Greatest Rappers, And those were mine, I'm done.

I just read that whole argument between Mascara and bungalowbill, and all i can say is...

I want my 10 minutes back.

I also find it amusing that Bill says that this is the "best rappers, not the favorite rappers", and on his list he includes Eminem, but not The Notorious B.I.G., MC Ren, or Ice Cube, all of whom, are better than Nas.

[sorry I was eating Ice Cream]

There is no way that MC Ren and Ice Cube are better than Nas. You must be an NWA fanboi. Nas is a better rapper than anyone in NWA, though E and Dre both made my list. Ice Cube and MC Ren don't cut it. They are great rappers, and I love Ice's part in **** Tha Police, but they are definitly not better rappers than Nas....., or any others on my list for that matter

Look, I'm not gonna drag this out, but I really couldn't give a **** about what you think. No, I am not a NWA fanboy, and if you think that Nas is better than Ice Cube, who has been around for about 10 more years, or Eminem, who sucks ass, then you must be 6 years old. Your list is mediocre at best.

I'm pretty sure that I would know more about rap than you would.

HA! Eminem sucks? Are you off of your meds?
If wanna say Em sucks because of his latest efforts, then that is understandable. Look at MMLP, or SSEP, they do not suck. Criminal, The Way I Am, all great songs.
And what does it matter if Ice Cube has been around for "10" years. Do you even know when Illmatic came out......'94. That was 12 years ago buddy. And remember, you cant count, so dont argue that with me

EDIT: I see you edited your post to completely change the meaning of it. Who's to say how long Nas/Ice Cube have been around. Nas was alive in '86, when NWA formed, and I bet he was rapping then too. And are you sure about 10 years. Nas' debut on record was in 1991. Ice Cubes record debut was in 1986, that is 5 years. You doubled the time in between them
Time in the game has nothing to do with rapping skill. Who cares if he has been around for "10 more years" Immortal Technique is a better rapper than DMC, and DMC has been around 20 years more. Time has nothing to do with it

Oh man....you showed me there.
If you think that Em is a **** rapper, and that Ren is better, I wouldn't wipe my ass with your opinions

The fact is that Ice Cube was and is an innovator of rap. Without Dre, Eminem would be nothing, which he already is. I'm not saying that Nas is bad, I am simply saying that Ice Cube and MC Ren are better. You are the one that is emphasizing how long Ice and Nas have been rapping, and yet you say that it dont matter how long they been rapping? Whatever, I really couldn't care less. You wouldn't wipe your ass with my opinions? Thats fine, but it astounds me that you think you know who are the greatest rappers of all time, yet you give me no reasons except that you say they are. Plus, you claim that Kanye West is one of the greatest rappers of all time, when he has put out 2 albums, thats like saying that Vanilla Ice is the best white rapper of all time because he put out a couple of hits.

A truely great rapper is respected and acknowledged by his piers, past and present, not 16 year old bobbleheads on a internet forum.

Like I said before, I dont want to drag this out.

I think that that was you. I simply told you why you were wrong, and you backed down form the argument. There is a 5 year difference between their debuts. That is quite different from 10.

And I said that Kanye deserves a mention. He isn't better than anyone in NWA, or Biggie. But he has done a lot for hip hop, and he has done a lot to bring it back from the pitiful state that mainstream hip hop is in right now. Which is why he deserves a mention.

Also, if innovation was the topic, then sure. NWA are the pioneers of Gangsta Rap. They were also very influential, and all of them were great rappers. I love NWA, you can ask anyone who knows me. I would never discredit their contributions to hip hop

I joined this site just to add my top 10
Most of the lists I see are major fails and it saddens me

1) RZA
2) GZA
3) Nas
4) Ghostface
5) Raekwon
5) Biggie
6) Pac
7) Gang Starr
8) Rebel INS
9) Meth
10) UGod/Masta Killa

Sorry but the wu tang clan are the best rap ANYTHING. Nobody can match their talent. And RZAs beats are almost all his own, he only samples 25% which is impressive and rare for a hip hop producer. Nobody has lyrics like RZA and GZA, because nobody is intelligent enough to write the **** they do as consistently as they do. Half of their talent is hidden in code, only hardcore fans understand that RZA is probably the best poet in the last 100 years or more. Add in the huge diversity of styles, flow, lyrics, wordplay, beats, everything...and wu got it.
