Babbletron

Just heard of these guys and they're pretty good. Nothing all that great lyrically but good beats and one of the MCs sounds pretty much exactly like DOOM, and one of the tracks is produced by DOOM himself. I recommend listening to Mechanical Royalty.

This is dope man. Without knowing anything about this, it sounds like that sweet period right before the turn of the century right were the 90's golden age was being mixed with the new alternative rap, when stuff like operation doomsday and whatknot were coming out.

I'm a sucka for minimalist beats where the cadences and melodies of rappers is more of the focus.
And yeah, that one guy does sound exactly like doom.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking too actually. It dropped 4 years after Doomsday, but I know what you're saying. I thought this one has more of an old school feel to it, but it was released only one year before the ones I posted before:

Sounds like I should get the album. My introduction to Babbletron was Aesop Rock did a feature with B and DJ Ese...

I'm gonna find the album you're pulling songs from T.Y., that's good stuff. I never listened to anything else they had.

Thom Yorke 11-29-2011 09:19 PM

^ That's actually how I found them, surfing Aesop stuff on youtube.

Sparky 11-29-2011 09:28 PM

Yeah aesop is responsible for a lot of my rap catalog.
