Action Bronson & Statik Selektah - Well Done leaked

dunno if any of you cats listen to either of these dudes, i don't really, Statik seems kinda boring, Bronson seems alright but he doesn't usually get on dope production, but this project sounds like it'll be pretty cool

Sparky 03-24-2012 12:58 AM

Wasn't crazy about him all that much either, but I'm diggin the Blue Chips mixtape. He's like a hip hop equivalent of Wolfmother, as in he's getting an awful lot of credit for just reproducing a classic sound very well.

Howcome MTV Riff Raff is part of his click now?

Phantom Limb 03-24-2012 01:05 AM

I'm digging this album a lot.

This song is by far my favorite.

Jester 03-24-2012 10:50 AM

because Riff Raff is fucking dope

Sparky 03-24-2012 01:37 PM

white lil b?

Jester 03-24-2012 01:44 PM

hardly

Sparky 03-24-2012 01:51 PM

I don't man, i don't **** with a lot of reality show rappers, including yelawolf. If you wanna post some videos that exemplify why he's fucking dope" I'd love it, but i really don't feel like sifting through another anti-rap artists 200000 plus catalogue just to find a couple tracks that make understand the joke/relevance.

I don't think that that's a bad thing though, do you? Roc marciano does pretty much the exact same thing and that doesn't detract from my respect for him.

Sparky 03-24-2012 04:01 PM

Well i associate Marcberg with Pete Rock, so that gives it a old school certificate right there, plus roc has been doing his thing for a minute now.

Action bronson has original, clever bars, voice just sounds eerily like pretty toney

What a weird movie cover to choose to parody.

these tracks all have dope production and Riff Raff is just stylish as hell. and he says some really dope left field shit sometimes.

but he's not like a "white Lil B" at all.. i think you just deduced that from the fact that they both have dopey voices and some of their **** is really asburd "swag" rap

Jester 03-24-2012 06:04 PM

also.. how do you associate Marcberg with Pete Rock? just because Roc worked with him years ago he gets a seal of approval? lol

Engine 03-24-2012 10:34 PM

I dunno, Jester. Stylish as hell?
The blue eyed guy obviously spends a lot of time sculpting his facial hair and dressing himself in 80s stuff (ironic vintage cable TV music channel logo tats even! He goes the extra mile) I guess we'll see how long that's considered stylish as hell.
The music sounds kind of dull to me.

Jester 03-25-2012 03:49 AM

i wasn't talking about how he looks... he strikes a weird balance between seriously absurd creativity and ign'ant "swag" rap. and listen closer to the beats.. so much flavor, so far from dull it's not even funny.

but i can see his image is taking its toll on how you're feeling his music..

Actually, Marcberg was produced 100% by Roc.

Sparky 03-25-2012 04:49 PM

add it to my list of things ive been super wrong about

Hmm, okay, maybe you're right. I'll try averting my eyes and listening.
Originally I thought the beats + the guy's voice sounded like a slightly better version of regular-ass Southern hip-hop.

Sparky 03-25-2012 09:39 PM

riff raff is a dork i don't know what it is yall are hearing

well yeah other dude already got it covered, Marci produced that whole record

and what are you talking about? i'm praising Riff Raff for getting on dope beats and for having a good flow.. you act like i'm sitting here going "THIS NGA RIGHT HERE IS ON SOME NEXT LEVEL SHIT"

he's just dope. like i said, he has a nice flow, he gets on good beats, and as far as his lyrics go.. he actually does say some really absurdly creative outlandish shit sometimes. but i'm not praising him as some lyrical genius, he's a good rapper with presence and cadence.

Yeah, trust me, i know what your saying, but i kinda feel like anybody can say some obscure outlandish **** if you record yourself freestyling hundreds of songs.

His flow and cadence are pretty unremarkable to me, i guess I don't really like him as a person, to be honest. I still feel like he's biting lil b in terms of promotion and presentation

Beats are pretty tight(except that jose canseco one was dull), and i liked seeing lil debbie appearance (why would she leave white girl mob?) i dont know. It's so hard to know what to make of all these joking, white clown rappers.

Jester 03-26-2012 12:08 AM

sure anyone can say weird shit but you have to have either the balls or brains to choose which weird **** gets recorded and goes wherever it goes

plus, Riff Raff has character. that's the best thing, especially when he channels all these traits i'm bringing up into a concentrated track like the ones i posted. and honestly, the ones i posted... those are probably the only tracks i've REALLY liked from him, i love 'em. most of his music is pretty bad though if that makes u feel better

but if you don't think "Larry Bird" has at least a dope beat... get out of here lol. that shit's awesome

Jester 03-26-2012 12:15 AM

oh just saw you edited the post... i like the Jose Conseco one but it is what it is. as long as u can recognize that Larry Bird instrumental i'm cool lol

also as far as Lil Debbie goes, i guess Kreayshawn kicked her out of WGM or some shit.. they even had some twitter drama going on i think

it does

larry bird is AIGHT

the action bronson song is real smooth, and riff has the most pleasing verse on it in my opinion.

The nardwuar action bronson video is pretty nice

I guess bronsons manager is the dude from 3rd bass which is pretty clown
http://www.mintunderground.com/produ...29226_zoom.jpg

The dude with the glasses mc serch also had a really ****ty reality show entitled the white rapper show, which riff raff, surprisingly, didn't appear in.

Jester 03-26-2012 12:36 AM

Larry Bird is ILL. but yeah Riff Raff killed Action Bronson on that track. Harry Fraud did his thing with that beat too i thought. i think the only other track i heard produced by that guy was that Jar of Drugs track from Bronson and it was ugly as hell... yeah anyway Riff killing AB made me happy, so many underground junkies had no choice but to give props to Riff Raff

Nardwuar is fucking great

After googling, she's only released one song, and it's some fairly crappy pop thing

Thom Yorke 03-26-2012 01:22 PM

Yikes. Well, she's still got her looks.
