Cause everyone else sucks. I think it also has to do with everyone listening to really commercial rap, but mostly the first reason.

The Hybrid has some pretty good stuff on it



but yeah i agree, his album XXX (a.k.a. 30) is better in terms of quality and message. his voice takes a bit of getting used to, but when you get past that you find a guy who's got alot to say

He seems decent. I haven't really been in a hip hop mood lately but he seems like someone who might interest me. Is there a particular album you'd recommend?

i've only listened to The Hybrid and XXX, but i definitely recommend the latter

I'd just like to point out i recently saw this dude live(soundset) and with a crowd of thousands of stoners he didn't play blunt after blunt.

I didn't even pay attention to whatever songs he was performing because i was so clouded by my frustration/sadness over the absence of that song i ****ing had a blunt in my hand for like 40 minutes waiting for him :(

I don't even like that song too much, but I would have been pretty annoyed as well. Serious crowd pleaser that would have been insane to see live.

its just a silly stoner anthem, but like you said, the crowd would have gone wild for it.

Now that i think about it, I'm surprised just how popular danny has gotten without having any true singles

I finally got around to listening to all of XXX. I can't believe I waited so long. I guess I lumped him in with all the little kid joke rappers out there.

I'd say this guy easily outraps all of the likes OF, ASAP Rocky, SpaceGhostPurrp, and all the others. It's too bad there's not a more substantial scene for him to be associated with.

make sure you don't sleep on The Hybrid either

Well, if you only lump him in this those artists then you'd be right. He had a (pretty terrible) feature on EL-P's new album and I think he is kind of part of that alternative to the alternative Hip Hop scene.

I thought it was cool at first, but I have probably listened to that album around 50 times. It stopped being funny after the 10th.

Yeah, I've listened to various songs from throughout his career but I'll definitely go get some full albums now. I think his voice and flow just somehow suddenly clicked with me. I always thought he could rap but he seemed cartoonish so I kept writing him off as another novelty act.

I thought hyper self referential BS was over by now. Can't wait to see all the teeny-boppers who sheepishly called lil b wack for touting himself as "person x" now struggle to find room on the bandwagon for danny boy's latest piece of garbage chorus. It's not an awful song but its a played out gimmick that i don't wanna let danny brown get the benefit of.

I have not listened to any of his tracks outside of albums he has released, but I do fear that the tracks I don't particularly care for will be the direction he goes in.

I think he's a talented guy but his voice starts to grate. I also think he kinda ruined Oh Hail No by El-P

i think he needs better music, but he could be potent

Yeah I always hit skip after Mr. Muthafuckin' eXquire's verse, his voice reminds me of Skeeter's from Doug.
