Did y'all see Butterfly's guest list on P4k?

Shabazz Palaces' Ishmael Butler

Top Things

01. Belaynesh

02. Weekend: All American

03. Kola Boof

04. All of Toyin Odutolas work

05. Boom Clap Bachelors: "Lob Stop Sta" [ft. Coco O]

06. November 5th

07. Black bean burger from Zippy's

08. The view from Saul's rooftop

09. The Mavs

10. The alien I saw working in a kebab shop in Berlin. He looked like a slightly melting Arab Gary Shandling. I knew something was funny by watching him move, it was something in the way it poured the tahini. Then a weird incandescent light was pouring out of his ears, sort of like honey. He peeped me noticing, saw the confused horror explode through my expression and moved in a time folding way, like a film jumping. It looked shocked like a young boy that was discovered stealing quarters from his moms purse to play Galaga at the corner store. I backed away into the door and almost broke through it but then it said something that sounded like "xeeulis" or something and I felt comfort like never before. We spoke for about an hour but everything it said I immediately forgot. Except this: that Kanye West was the greatest artist of any kind in the history of man.

I wasn't into Black Up at all when I first heard it. I gave it a good shot because I'm willing and ready to slobber on anything Digable Planets alumni make but I just felt bored by this.

But I take it all back now. Lately I've been listening to the album on the daily.

I really want to see them when they do the Free Press festival. There's a few other acts too, but I've regretted not seeing them at the Pitchfork Hipster Festival when I had the chance.

That's a bummer, since I usually align with your sensibilities. I still need to take a listen to their newest stuff tho. I have checked some f their older stuff though, I couldn't get into the first EP but the second was great, that "gunbeat falls" just killin shit.

Yeah. I've never given the first record a listen but i enjoyed his sophomore release quite a lot.

Goofle sent me Black Up on vinyl for Christmas and it's been a staple for me ever since. Any recommendations on similar albums or is this a freak of nature?
