been thinking that the album should just be King Kuntra on repeat. ive gone back to that track quite a bit rather than the album

You all don't like the Tupac bit at the end? I thought that really kind of gave the album a sence of coming full-circle talking this whole time about this butterfly metaphor and finally bringing it back towards him, his influence, his roots in his music because really that's what the whole album is about his roots, his hometown, the things that he grew up around, and his family and friends. It really sums it up well and dosent feel forced or anything like that.

I'm honestly not bothered about the concept. I don't think I have ever listened to an album and thought "The concept was so great".

Frownland 03-19-2015 05:07 PM

There are other ways to get that message across without making me have to stop the album before it's finished.

I've had that thought with sort of gimmicky albums like A Chance to Cut is a Chance to Cure, but yeah, in general I agree.

Damn, twas my favorite part of the album, thought it was the perfect ending.

And I know that the same people listened to these other albums and don't rate them as highly because it wasn't released by "King Kendrick praise the Lord".

"All these other albums are better, if someone disagrees it's because THEY are the biased ones not me"

I just admitted to being slightly biased/sour myself. But then again, I listened to the album earlier and I think I counted eight tracks that are particularly boring.

Institutionalized, These Walls, U, Alright, For Sale, Momma, Hood Politics and Complexion.

Meanwhile Institutionalized and Hood Politics are like no-brainer 10/10 tracks from me and I would've bet money that you'd like them a lot so I'm really confused about that shit. All those other tracks besides Momma are nearly as amazing as well. Maybe the fact that I went into the album with no hype at all helped me to like it more
