My mother hates it with a passion, but is also completely out of touch with it. When my brother was cleaning the kitchen and had some hip hop playing, and she walked upstairs, she actually said, "What the heck is the crap?" Basically, she had no idea it was hip hop, but realized that she hated it.
My father doesn't listen to it, but appreciates some of it. In his own words, "I like the attitude." He is also completely out of touch with it, as his "favorite" rappers are Lil Wayne and Eminem. |

^^My parents are out of touch from rap too.
Though my mom doesn't love the rap, she doesn't have anything against it. Unless theres something ''wrong'' in lyrics (example: gangsta rap, or if drugs and alcohol are positive things in lyrics etc.). But then i remind him that when she was young she liked punk when she was at my age ![]() My father has quite same view about rap as my mom. If there is something music my parents doesn't like its dubstep, new rave and experimental electronic music. ''Would you turn that noise down? My parents have only once asked me to turn music off or at least change the track. It was finnish hardcorepunk band called ''Terveet Kädet'' (''Healthy Hands'') track called ''Pissaa ja paskaa'' (''Pee and Sh1t'') ![]() |

My dad likes a lot of the old school hip hop, or so he says. Whatever that means for him I'm not sure. My mom won't even classify it as music (But she does quite like "You Are Never Alone" by Socalled).

I grew up in a Pentacostal Christian household. Rap music was the devil, along with everything else that I liked (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, professional wrestling, violent video games, staying up past 10pm, Saturday Night Live, etc.)
