You cant really have one without the other. Music evolves.
Old School was relevant and spoke for that generation. As new school is today. Easy E, Wu Tang, Big L, Rakim, =====> Tupac, Biggie, Nas, Jay Z, Mobb Deep Out Kast =======> Kanye West, 50 Cent, Eminem, Lil Wayne (current) =====> J Cole, Drake Kendrick Lamar, Blu, Big Krit (if they dont fall off) ..Hip Hop will always be good....that old school vs new school **** is stupid..there is always true hip hop.... |

how is it awful? Those are the big mainstream artists for each time and those four names fit. Not sure how you can say that it isn't true.

I wasn't referring to any of the other artists.

And even the "current four" I would say are way off, Kanye West and Eminem have gone way past their eras where they will have contributed towards the evolution of hip-hop, they're both now mainly producing pop music that has high levels of hip-hop influence. They will both be remembered for their early albums in the years to come. 50 Cent and Lil Wayne should probably never even be considered on a list of how hip-hop has evolved. |
