Would a G-Unit re-union be any good?
 

Ok, so as most will probably know The Game has made a few attempts now to reach out to 50 Cent regarding putting the original 5 member G-Unit back together. Whether or not he's doing this out of poor record sales or a genuine desire to refuel the movement of which they were all a product I don't know. Let's be honest, in 2005 G-Unit was the bomb, in fact, from 50's debut up till the split with The Game, G-Unit was incredible. Putting them back together now though, I'm not so sure, 50 Got Rich and Stopped Tryin'. Yayo was never anything that special, to be honest a Banks/Buck/Game project would be something to hear.

yeah just those three with 50 cent would be pretty dope but leave Yayo at home or something geez that guy is so lackluster.

I'm not even sure I'd want 50...his last good album was 'The Massacre' and while I'm sure that he CAN still write good lyrics, I haven't heard much evidence of it since 2005/2006

oh that's not fair, on each of his newer albums he has about two or three good tracks but he keeps steering more towards having songs for the ladies on his album to the point where it's 20% raw shit vs. 80% songs for the ladies

Game came so close to ending fiftys career.. shame he couldn't follow through.

Both are flopping when it comes to album sales, fifty cents last album barely made gold.

Honestly, I'd rather the entire G-unit squad vanished from the face of this earth. They're all talentless morons who don't deserve any of our time. 50 raped the culture that I love, he chewed it up, sucked up all the money from it and spat it out a deformed mess, a shell of it's former self. He's everything that is wrong with Hip Hop today.

50 is better for Hip-Hop than Lil Wayne and his Cash Money ilk, not to mention the likes of Flo Rida, T-Pain and Soulja Boy *facepalm*

Well I can see you are just straight up biased against G-Unit but Lloyd Banks is the sickest person they have in their crew and his last solo effort was straight up fire! I already told you the reason why 50's last album didn't sell too well because of all of those tracks for the ladies. Lloyd Banks' album outperformed his by far. Start it up was an awesome club banger for the summer.

I don't really see Lil Wayne contributing much to Hip Hop. Imo, all he is doing is getting as much money as he possibly can and as quickly as possible while promoting the other artists on Cash Money. He pretty much took Ludacris' punch line rapping to another level and the mainstream eats it up. Yes, his lyrics can be lazy at times but you will always laugh at a few things he says.

I won't try to defend Flo Rida because he's like a guilty pleasure artist for me and I bought his first two albums. T-pain is whatever to me, I have never listened to a full album of his and he's leaning more on the r&b side of things but if you are trying to say him re-introducing attune to the mainstream and everyone riding it because of him then I understand.

I have faith in Soulja Boi that he will get slightly better he keeps improving with each album. I think you are judging him just based off of his singles and you probably haven't even listened to any of his albums from front to back. There is always one or two tracks on each album that shows he has the potential but he keeps putting out singles of things that are catchy/annoying because he knows the younger kids eat up that shit.

50 is not better for hip hop than Lil Wayne. They're both useless twats who should have never made it this far.

@DJcham Lloyd Banks was the most talented out of Gunit without a doubt, but that still doesn't make him talented. I'm not a big fan of gangster rap but if you're going to do it at least go about it with some skill, Royce, Crooked I, Tech N9ne, Big Daddy Kane, Big Pun, Biggie Smalls, Rakim, Big L, Celph Titled etc etc... these guys had some form of talent and despite a lot of their lyrics being incredibly ignorant and negative, they incorporated some form of lyricism and delivery.

Like I say, Banks is the most talented member of G-unit, but that's like being the least nerdy person at a star trek convention.

What that being said, I still love Star Wars way more than Star Trek and I agree with you it is pure win and awesome.

Haha, no, I'm quite glad to have never been to a Sci-Fi convention, and I certainly wouldn't go to a Star Wars one as I'm afraid it would ruin my love of the movies aha.

Too be fair, I haven't heard his solo albums and can't judge them. But every song he did with 50 Cent and the rest of G-Unit was fecking awful. Is there a huge jump in quality from his solo stuff, or is it mostly like the stuff he did with G-Unit.

I actually like some of Game's stuff, I think he is the best out of all of them. Followed by Lloyd. 50 has always been terrible and I'm never listening to him again. I'm not a chick and I don't like terrible rap so there is no reason.

I have one of Young Buck's albums and it wasn't terrible either but he's definitely behind Lloyd and Game.

I always liked Buck's verses on Beg For Mercy the most, sure they're not the most lyrically talented, but they had attitude about them which I really liked.

You guys do realise they're releasing a new G-unit album this year right? They never actually dispanded or anything so I don't understand the point of this thread?

Yeah, the point of the thread is in reference to The Game's proposal that him and Young Buck re-join. As for the new album, I'm not interested, I didn't like TOS, 50 is crap now, and Yayo always sucked, so why would I buy the group album just to listen to Lloyd Banks?

If Game and Buck re-join with Lloyd Banks, I will probably check it out, 50 and yayo are the weakest links.
